It's why I continue to fail to understand exactly how the "peace deal" posters in here (who also complain loudly about any dollars spent on Ukraine) actually expect things to work.

True.

We have had deals already. Deals which were all broken.

Ukraine needs to be assured that their sovereignty is protected. How can that be done? You can’t trust Russia so how?

Look at the Korean situation. Do we want that for Ukraine? I don’t think so. Aiding Ukraine to bleed Russia? That seems to me to be the best option.

Anyone have a better way?

Any peace deal that Ukraine can actually accept would require more more and US-provided deterrent capability than Trump is going to want to spend. It's going to be much cheaper to simply take a bunch of our old armored vehicles out of long-term storage, provide them to Ukraine, and take the handcuffs off the usage of the weapons we've provided.

There are a lot of Bradley's in storage in Europe and hundreds of F16's slated for retirement.

The F16's need experienced contract pilots and maintenance crews, but that could happen quickly especially in response to the NORKS sending troops.

I can't imagine Trump simply letting Russia win, which would make the whole world conclude that the US is weak.

The Central Asian states have pivoted back to Russia over the last two years because Ukraine is losing. There’s no scenario where the US doesn’t look weaker when this is over. We gambled on war and lost.

The following is public opinion polling from Russia

All polling in Russia is complicated, but Levada is the best that there is. They've gotten in plenty of trouble in the past when they've published unflattering polls (they've even been labeled a "foreign agent").

I tend to think that the results are accurate. The government is pumping so much money into the economy that a great many Russians are materially better off now than they were before the war. Everyone who wants a job can get one, and the salaries of soldiers and the death payments to bereaved families have substantially improved the quality of life in smaller towns and rural communities.

Russia has a great number of economic problems, but no one really knows how long the cocaine high will last before everything comes crashing down.

The crash absolutely is coming, but the average Russian doesn't understand that.

The 12th time you’ve posted this nonsense. No pilot wants to go die for Ukraine.

How come none of you will go over there if this is such a dire conflict? You just want to volunteer someone else’s kid or father. I’ll buy your plane ticket if you go

Oh no, Ukraine bros! Let's see what your little trogdolyte hero is saying now

quote:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday said Russia’s war in Ukraine will end “faster” when Donald Trump takes over as US president.

Speaking in a radio interview with Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne, Zelensky admitted to a difficult situation on the battlefield, where Russia has been pressing its advantages in manpower and weaponry.

He said the war “will end faster with the policy of this team that will now lead the White House,” referring to the incoming Trump administration

About demobilization
From this law at one time removed the norm on service life. But they promised to work a separate law for this. What is being done in this direction when we talk about those who have already served a thousand days?

No one wants peace as much as we do. A change in United States policy suggests that I believe the war will end. I don't know how. Our task is — to defend a strong position. A just peace is important to us so that there is no feeling that we have lost the best for the injustice that has been imposed on us.

Therefore, I believe that the war will end. And not abstract. There is no exact date, but with the policies of the team that will now lead the White House, the war will end sooner. This is their approach, a promise to their society. We must not allow ourselves to be sold, to occupy us, to show that we are weakened.

They are not getting territory back, they are not getting some guarantee from the US, they arent getting shat.

They stop now or continue on their own with no US support.

You guys act as if they have some leverage in negotiation, they have none, zero, zip.

The US will look weak, did you frickin sleep through that decade long debacle in Afghanistan???

Everyday Russia brings more territory back home to mother Russia, Lets see what is left of the country formerly known as ukraine in another six months.

countrywide breakdown in supply chain....

Russian Railways stopped sending containers to the largest terminal in the Moscow region for 10 days

Russian Railways has stopped sending containers to one of the main container terminals in the Moscow region - Selyatino - for 10 days, said company employees working with these terminals. The restriction is valid from November 12 to November 21 and is due to the fact that the terminal is overcrowded, and the Moscow Railway is overloaded, follows from the documents of Russian Railways.

A similar situation is in another large terminal - Elektrougli. Trains with containers cannot get there either - for more than 10 days they have been standing about 1000 kilometers from the capital, between Perm and Kirov.

Delays in delivery are huge - a month is considered a good time, and two months is no longer uncommon, key stations on the import route from the Far East to Central Russia are packed with abandoned trains, from which the locomotive was uncoupled and left on sidings for an indefinite period, shippers say. In most cases, Russian Railways explains the need to leave the train without movement by a lack of rolling stock and locomotive crews, employees of transport companies explain. The company lacks 2.5 thousand drivers, said Dmitry Shakhanov, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways.

A month ago, Russian Railways informed shippers that almost 600 trains are idle across the country - and only a tenth of them are in the Far East, employees of logistics companies say. Half of the trains were then on the Moscow Railway. But now the "epidemic" with the abandonment of trains has swept the entire railway network on the way from East to West, operators assure.

After all, the containers that have reached the central part of Russia stand kilometer-long walls at key transport hubs: there is nothing to carry back to the East in them, because Russia's main export is raw materials or food, explains the head of the freight forwarding company.

We didn’t win anything from those wars. We came away weaker. It was the beginning of the end. We gambled our prosperity and lost after fabricating atrocities to get into pointless wars so that the zionists could help introduce the unwashed hordes - the miks, the krauts, the wops, etc - and even worse, the greatest golem of them all, individualism! So your ancestors helped destroy America in reality. Congratulations. Your ancestor helped kill America.
