The Ukrainians moved the field hospital north of Toretsk back to Konstantinovka last week.

I think it will end with the Russians in Kiev, Moscow won't accept anything else.

I do keep an eye out for public statements or discussions about where the border should be. I'm interested in what the Russians are thinking. One Russian official in Zaporozhzhia suggested last week that it should be Vinnytsia.

South Korean and Ukrainian officials reportedly continue to identify North Korean military personnel already fighting in Ukraine as well as training in Russia for possible future deployments alongside the Russian military.

At a minimum, this should call for the use of experienced Western contractors to fly and maintain a fleet of F16's adequate to establish air superiority as well as training Ukrainians.

Ukrainian POWs Reportedly Stripped Naked, Shot in Russia’s Kursk Region

Initial reports showed multiple bodies, stripped naked with only their underwear on, lying face down on the ground after allegedly being shot by Russian troops upon surrendering.

by Kyiv Post | October 13, 2024, 2:07 pm

Open-source intelligence DeepState, citing its own sources from Ukraine’s 1st Tank Brigade, reported the incident on Sunday in a Telegram announcement.

It said the incident took place on Thursday, Oct. 10, when nine Ukrainian troops, some of them working as drone operators, came into contact with Russian troops after “thinking that they were in the relative rear,” who then surrendered and were subsequently shot.

DeepState added a photo containing a map that indicates the location of the incident, as well as a top-down photo, presumably taken by a drone, of men lying naked on the ground in underwear and surrounded by troops in military uniforms.

DeepState added that “additional details of the circumstances are being clarified.”

There have been numerous recorded cases of Russian troops executing unarmed Ukrainian POWs.

Replace him with a leader whose election isn’t rubber stamped and whose service is limited by real constitutional restraints and there would be no war.

But Russia did launch wars against former Soviet-controlled regions and countries under Yeltsin and Medvedev (who was nothing more than a Putin puppet, if we're honest)...

Is Putin worse? Maybe... but every Russian leader since the Tsars has been obsessed with controlling these areas as a strategic defensive buffer and has used everything they could think of, including military campaigns, to get them.

He has never demonstrated any backbone where Putin is concerned in public (in fact, publically groveled and sold out his own intelligence agencies in favor of Putin standing next to him), only supposed tough guy threats no one can verify.

So as far as things you can find some basis to count on... and he repeated his "I won't automatically come to any NATO country's defense" bit the other day.

I'm not the only one who doesn't share your unwavering faith in Trump on these issues.

Probably better to hear those like Gen. McMasters tell the truth instead of the ID10Ts at WaPo, NYT, CNN, etc...

Edit: He was tougher on Russia than Obama.

I can understand your opinion, but when you compare his term as president with Joe Biden’s and Obama’s you have to admit it was relatively free of major conflicts.

ISW Update Oct 13th

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian forces have recently resumed tactical offensive attacks in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area and have made tactical gains in localized assaults, but this activity so far does not appear to be a part of a larger operational offensive effort to support the wider Russian offensive operation in western Donetsk Oblast.

Russian forces recently executed nine Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) in Kursk Oblast amid a theater-wide increase in Russian executions of Ukrainian POWs.

Russian milbloggers largely glorified the Russian execution of the Ukrainian POWs, reinforcing a cultural norm to justify and celebrate war crimes within the broader Russian ultranationalist community.

Ukrainian forces recently regained lost positions near Selydove, and Russian forces recently advanced near Toretsk, Donetsk City, and Velyka Novosilka.

Ukraine's victory plan includes more Storm Shadow, ATACMS missiles, presidential advisor says

by Martin Fornusek October 14, 2024 12:10 PM

Ukraine's victory plan includes a request for greater numbers of ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles and a permission to launch then against military targets in Russia, presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak told the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) in comments published on Oct. 14.

President Volodymyr Zelensky pitched the five-step plan, which was presented as a way to just and lasting peace in Ukraine, to leaders of the leading Western powers, hoping to rally international support behind it.

The victory plan includes specific military, economic, political, and diplomatic steps aimed at pressuring Russia toward ending its war, Podolyak told the WSJ.

According to the advisor, permission to strike military targets deep inside Russian territory could ramp up domestic pressure in Russia, weaken Russian forces, and thus change Russian President Vladimir Putin's strategic calculus.

Not saying he was correct when he specifically did that, but our intelligence agencies aren't infallible by any means. Them having their own foreign policy/national security agenda that transcends votes or presidents is something we have to get a handle on.

Trump would not allow that. He will offer a carrot and a stick to Putin. If Putin rejects the carrot Trump will hit him with more than Biden has - but Putin won’t reject it. This is how Trump negotiates.

Biden confirms that US troops will be deployed to Israel to man new THAAD and Patriot missile defense systems.

The deployment will be mostly in northern Israel and will consist of approximately 100-200 troops to help defend Israel against Hezbollah and Iranian attacks.

I guess Dementia Joe is not a UkraineFirster. He is an IsraelFirster. All those Muslims in Michigan and Minnesota gonna love this.
