Ukraine orders evacuations from Donetsk towns as Russia claims advance

Questions:

Does ukraine know they are actually supposed to use those f16s?

If Russia's rail line has collapsed, how are they able to continue to take back more of the Motherland

Are they using robots, their demographics say they have no men to fight, must be robots

You guys should be real proud your govt cant get anymore money approved through congress so they are weasling it through the World Bank to pay pensions and salaries to ukraine. Tell that to the next homeless vet you step over on the street here in America. And before some shathead on here tells me its not the same funding, bullshite. Every dime we spent in ukraine could have been saved, or spent on AMERICANS.

Waste of money and humanity on both sides so a few people can get rich, such a shameful waste.

Yet still you support the obvious meat grinder despite clearly seeing that its solely to benefit the MIC and to "weaken Russia". As if a country that cant take Kiev in 2.5 years is anything other than a paper tiger.

You are an evil person.

People have answered these same questions 1,000X over, here...

Russia is using drugged-up, dehydrated, cholera-suffering troops who either charge forward when ordered or get shot by Chechians.

They are made to charge forward after a village has been reduced by Russian shelling to small piles of rubble where Ukrainian troops have no cover.

The Ukrainians pull back rather than just be killed in that situation.

But the question is not "how much land can Russia gain," but "how much can it keep?" if/when the rail collapses and supplies/ammo can't get through anymore... the Kerch Bridge gets closed and ferries to Crimea are sunken...

Nukes are why the administration is so weird about what gets used in Russia. They think Putin would use them if he thinks he has nothing else to use, because he is a psychopath,

So, are you up for some good ol' nuclear brinkmanship? See how far that psycho will really go?

Iran requests air defence from Russia to prepare for war with Israel, deliveries already underway – NYT

Iryna Balachuk — Tuesday, 6 August 2024, 07:39

Iran has requested advanced air defence systems from Russia as it prepares for a possible war with Israel. The New York Times has reported that deliveries are already underway.

Source: NYT

Quote from NYT: "Two Iranian officials familiar with the war planning, one a member of the Revolutionary Guards Corps, confirmed that Iran has made the request and said Russia has started delivering advanced radars and air-defence equipment. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to discuss the aid publicly."

Details: The New York Times noted that a senior Russian security official, former Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, visited Tehran on 5 August. The visit happened while Iran has been preparing to retaliate against Israel for the assassination of a Hamas political leader on Iranian soil last week.

Shoigu met with Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian, Brigadier General Mohammad Bagheri, who leads military strike planning against Israel, and the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

"Mr. Shoigu’s visit underscores the close alliance between Iran and Russia, which has strengthened since the war in Ukraine started in 2022. Iran has provided Russia with military drones, and the two countries recently finalised an agreement to expand their military and intelligence cooperation." The New York Times emphasised.

General Bagheri told Shoigu that relations between their countries are "deep, long-term and strategic" and that they will only expand under the new Iranian government.

The New York Times noted that Russia also has economic and cultural ties with Israel, as a large number of Russian Jews live there. But analysts say Moscow cannot afford to refuse Tehran's request for help, as it relies heavily on Iranian-made drones in Ukraine.

Quote from Colin Clarke, director of policy and research at the Soufan Group, an intelligence and security consultancy: "If Iranians are asking Russians for air defence, they are cashing in their chips. The question is how do Russians assuage Tehran without ruining their relationship with Israel."

Russia Reportedly Transfers Iskander and Murmansk-BN Systems to Iran

Russia has allegedly transferred Iskander missile systems and Murmansk-BN electronic warfare systems to Iran, according to Israeli news service Channel 14. The transfer was reportedly carried out using an IL-76 military transport aircraft, which made multiple flights from Russia to Iran.

This move comes amid heightened tensions following threats from Iran to strike Israel in retaliation for the elimination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Defense Express noted that Iran had not previously been known to possess these types of weapons, and there had been no public discussion about their transfer. This suggests that Russian personnel might be accompanying the equipment to operate it, as Iranian specialists are unlikely to have been trained on these systems.

Murmansk-BN systems are designed to suppress satellite navigation and communication over distances up to 5,000 km.

The transfer of the Iskander missile system is significant in light of Iran’s missile needs. The Iskander systems have a range of up to 500 km, but Iran would require missiles with a range of about 1,200 km to reach Israel.

This raises the possibility that Iskander-K systems, with R-500 cruise missiles capable of reaching 1,500 km, might have been included in the transfer.

Why is the rail system on the verge of collapse?

From the guys article (translated from Russian to English) LINK

quote:

As an intermediate result: Currently, a catastrophic situation is developing in Russian Railways. The interest in working on the railway among the lower working staff is minimal. Mostly — due to low pay, which does not correspond to the complexity of the work. — awards are generally a sore topic, for good reason employees say that only in Russian Railways you plow like a horse so that you do not lose your prize. And the deprivation of — is the same saving of funds! Here « the gentlemen of the auditors work tirelessly »…

Abbreviations, combinations, work without days off — all this directly affects the ever-growing traumaticity, and if the influx of unskilled personnel « due to the fence », then the situation is generally in a disaster.

Here is a little more about the example above: the haters did not come, because mainly lumpen work there, instead of them the cars were driven by those who had to watch the brakes, wheels, highways and cables. They refueled with water, inspection — you understand, superficially. You can not continue further, then a time-bound mine with a probability of 50/50.

But the most important thing — those who have to change something (carrot park, working conditions, incentive methods) are not going to do this at all. One gets the impression, which is confirmed by the opinion of employees, that the Russian Railways leadership is struggling to squeeze out the maximum profit at a minimum of costs. And what will happen tomorrow — is not so important.

In general, — everything is according to Marx.

The prospect is so-so: the car fleet will continue to wear out, there are less and less repair options, there are fewer working personnel able to maintain the cars in working condition. So, idle air conditioners and toilets will become normal. But, as one of the readers of the public « 1520 » — had previously traveled without air conditioning and with toilets « hole in the floor », and no one was dying.

Well, we’ll get to the heaters. Not right away, but we’ll get it. To the slope. And this time — it is just around the corner, the question is literally a few years. And that is why, with the help of Russian Railways employees, we are trying to draw attention to security issues on the Russian railways.

His main thing is the workers don't want the jobs anymore due to several factors, but one of the ones he harps on is their scheudle (and that the top brass doesn't see it as an issue so long as the top brass gets more money)

quote:

Railway Beach — work in three shifts. It’s probably worth explaining what it is. This is usually winter, when people get sick, and summer, when people try to go on vacation. But we’ll talk about the mockery called « vacation » a little later.

Three shifts look like this:
— Monday: day, from 8 to 20.
— Tuesday: night, from 20 to 0 hours.
— Wednesday: night from 0 to 8 hours.
(hereinafter there must be a full-fledged day off, but no)
— Thursday: day, from 8 to 20.
— Friday: night, from 20 to 0 hours.
— Saturday: night from 0 to 8 hours.
— Sunday: day, from 8 to 20.

And so week after week, month, two. Maybe three. In summer, this is generally the norm.

Now imagine that you are working in this mode. I talked with compilers, this is perhaps the most dangerous profession for railway. And okay, at the passenger stations, what the compilers from the — cargo track told me is generally a chorus. Yes, no one has canceled the processing surcharges, there you can get a very decent amount with all the surcharges and ratios, about 100 thousand.

Question — at what cost! By the end of the third week of this existence, all work is already being done on autopilot. Result — Fatal PE. Tynda, Amur Region, Mogot, Ufa, Makhachkala, Seredavino, Vikhorevka, Chelyabinsk. The list can really be continued, the compilers are dying and crippled, mainly because of such « circumstances ».

Yes, the drafters killed the head of the station of the South Russian Railways Davydovka, Marina Tishanskaya, who had to perform their duties during the day, and at night went to the so-called « windows ». This is when the movement in a certain area stops and repairs are carried out there. There was no one else to send, and someone had to be present at the work from the station according to all instructions. As a result, she simply could not stand it, fell asleep at the wheel of her car and died. Tishanskaya was 27 years old, the child is 3 years old.

How did the leadership of the South Russian Railways react? Worthy of applause: immediately gave birth to instructions that prohibit the use of personal vehicles when moving on official business. There should be hired transport, and even better — rail. But there will be a completely separate conversation about managers and their attitude towards employees.

What is there to say about the compilers ... Clutch / disengage the cars, fasten them with shoes, connect cables and highways. Playing this crazy « Tetris », forming — yes, this is not for wimps. And all this in the rain and snow, in the heat and in the cold. Holidays in the summer? Yes, good, but who will work? One of my interlocutors admitted that for 5 years of work in the summer he did not get out to the sea. A dream (a guy from the back of the area) remains a dream.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly crossed into Russia’s Kursk region, launching attacks on the towns of Gogolevka (?????????) and Nikolaevo-Dar’ino (?????????-???????). Multiple Russian sources have confirmed the incursion, suggesting that Ukraine may be attempting to seize Russian territory for media impact. Newly released footage reveals Ukrainian soldiers engaging in combat just 1-2 miles inside Russian territory.

The map below illustrates the areas that Russian sources acknowledge are currently under Ukrainian control. The actual territory in which they are operating must be larger given the video below. In response, the Russian military has deployed the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade to mount a counterattack.

This incursion is likely a strategic maneuver by Ukraine, intended to compel Russia to divert resources to bolster its border defenses, potentially weakening its front-line forces. Additionally, the operation may serve as a propaganda effort to boost Ukraine’s position in the information war.

Acting Kursk Governor Smirnov has now confirmed that there is an ongoing fight for control of three border between Ukraine and Russia.

Statement from Acting Kursk Governor Smirnovt: "Today, information is coming from the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts about attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through into the territory of the Kursk region. The fighters of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation prevented the border from being crossed."

The border was crossed in at least one location that has been identified and the Ukrainian vehicle in three video above was marked by a triangle symbol

Russian sources are reporting that Ukrainian troops are now attacking in the direction of Kurilovka (marked on the map) as they continue their assault on Kursk region in Russia. This town is about 4 miles inside Russia.

LINK

quote:

Russian sources reported this morning about an alleged “offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk direction.” According to them, several combat vehicles of the “Ukrainian forces” allegedly entered the territory of the so-called Russia and are moving towards the villages of Kurilovka and Goncharovka:

"Kursk region

The fighting continues. According to available primary data from several sources, the enemy managed to bring several armored vehicles into our territory. Direction Kurilovka and Goncharovka, the enemy is trying to break through with the surviving tanks. The situation remains difficult. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are shelling the city of Sudzha."

As of now, it is practically impossible to assess the scale of the supposed incursion into the Kursk region. Russian sources are scarce and tend to lie. Meanwhile, Ukrainians are not saying much either. It might be similar to previous incursions into Belgorod and Kursk Oblasts, or it could be something bigger (or smaller).

He is right. But I am not so sure that this administration really cares in Ukraine surviving. What Biden has done is criminal. Thousands of people are dead because of this administration's policies.
Everything that they have touched in foreign policy has been a complete disaster:
Ukraine policy
Middle East/Iran/Israel
Afghanistan withdrawal
Africa

No one can deny this. Name one success that this administration has achieved. It is a disaster and a trajedy.

This country is being destroyed from weak leadership and weak leaders. This adminjstration has achieved no success in any field: economy, immigration, foreign policy, etc. We cannot withstand another four years of this from a radical socialist in Harris. If she is elected you ain't seen anything yet.

Thats part of it, but I think another part is that if you make them collapse you have nukes falling into the hands of who knows who? A gangster thug being able to fall back on having nukes in order to get some of what he wants is one thing, a religious extremist with a penchant for jihad getting them is completely different and not really out of the realm of possibility if the country were to fold. Even if the country doesn't entirely collapse you just can't be sure about what Putin's eventual successor might do, especially if its not a clean succession (he dies of ACTUAL natural causes and not Russian Natural Causes, he resigns actually of his own free will, main idea being the succession is somewhat planned out and not a spur of the moment coup).

This isn't the USSR anymore and Russia doesn't have Ukraine's heavy manufacturing as it once did, or that of all its former Warsaw Pact partners. Those who think that Russia can pop out new equipment like puppies just don't have a clue. Russia makes very little of what it once did. QA/QC wasn't that good before the Soviet collapse anyway.

Whoever would have taken workers from the Uralvagonzavod line that produces critical infrastructure components such as rail axles to bring old T62s back into service would have negative consequences?

Disclaimer: I am just contributing to the discussion. I am not getting excited about the railroads collapsing until it happens.

If this is the case, that is a collapse of a nation which is almost 100% reliant on rail. Dependent on electric rail. Good reason not to go all electric in anything.

Being electric doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s the fact that the electric infrastructure and locomotives are dependent on components that Russia doesn’t make. It’s diesel locomotives are suffering as well according to the rumors on X.
