Key Takeaways:
A recent Ukrainian poll indicates that Ukrainians widely reject Russia's demands for total Ukrainian capitulation, emphasizing that the Kremlin's conditions for the end of the war are entirely unreasonable and widely unpopular within Ukraine.
Ukraine continues to demonstrate its willingness to negotiate with Russia on Ukraine’s own terms, and Ukraine’s demands for a peace settlement are in accordance with international law — in direct contrast to Russia’s unwillingness to engage in negotiations that end in anything short of full Ukrainian surrender.
European Union (EU) officials continue to take steps to demonstrate the EU’s non-alignment with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s political stances concerning the war in Ukraine.
The Russian government proposed to significantly increase the number of conditions on which the Russian government can designate a person as a terrorist or extremist, likely as part of efforts to censor criticisms about Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces conducted drone strikes against Russian energy infrastructure overnight on July 14 to 15 and reportedly also hit Russian military assets in occupied Crimea.
A new Russian migrant assimilation program highlights the apparent struggle the Russian government is facing with reconciling aspects of its policy towards Central Asian migrants as the Russian state desires to present itself as welcoming and multicultural while also emphasizing the primacy of Russian language and historical legacy.
Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov is posturing himself and the North Caucasus as key to Russia's outreach to the Arab world.
Ukrainian forces recently regained lost positions near Toretsk, and Russian forces recently advanced near Toretsk and Avdiivka.
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized ongoing Russian efforts to integrate the metallurgy industry in occupied Ukraine into Russia's defense industrial base (DIB).

I'd rather do that then send it Ukraine.

My guess is that he means substation. Literal translations often miscommunicate actual meaning. Is it for a residential area or something more important to Russia's war machine?
They hit the Korenevsky Plant in Koreveno. It used to make low voltage instrumentation parts for the energy sector from what I am reading.
From their web page....

I like that he was skeptical of Trump and changed his viewpoint after he saw his presidency. That’s a good thing.

That clears things up nicely. A lot has been lost in literal translations in the past. Thanks for the info.

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 16 July 2024
The Russian Government is developing a system to prevent potential draftees to the Russian military from leaving the country. On 11 July 2024, the Russian independent media organisation Meduza reported that the Russian government is implementing an 'information exchange system' between the Ministry of Defence and the Federal Security Service (FSB) to pass details of potential conscripts to the FSB Border Guard Service and prevent them fleeing the country. Reportedly the system is to be fully functional before the Autumn 2024 draft. Russia carries out two conscription drafts each year, drafting in over 250,000 personnel annually to serve one year of compulsory military service.
Hundreds of thousands of Russians left the country after the announcement of a partial mobilisation in 2022 and these were disproportionately concentrated among the young and highly educated, causing knock on effects to the labour market. The implementation of this system is likely intended to prevent a smaller scale repeat of this during the annual draft cycle, and in the event of a further wave of mobilisation.

Oh no, Ukraine bros! Chaim "Bill" Kristol, Liz Cheney, and Adam Kinzinger all say that JD Vance is a terrible pick for Ukraine. It's so sad that Trump didn't factor in Ukraine's well-being when making this pick and that he will end your LARP project before he is sworn in.

Odds on how quick cargo pants folds when US funding dries up??????
I guess you missed the whole thing about the G7 nations agreeing to fund Ukraine with Russia’s money? The vast majority of those assets are not held by the USA. I guess you also didn’t read the articles to find out the details on Trump’s position on aid to Ukraine.
quote:LINK
Reuters) - Two key advisers to Donald Trump have presented him with a plan to end Russia's war in Ukraine - if he wins the Nov. 5 presidential election - that involves telling Ukraine it will only get more U.S. weapons if it enters peace talks.
The United States would at the same time warn Moscow that any refusal to negotiate would result in increased U.S. support for Ukraine, retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, one of Trump's national security advisers, said in an interview.
Under the plan drawn up by Kellogg and Fred Fleitz, who both served as chiefs of staff in Trump's National Security Council during his 2017-2021 presidency, there would be a ceasefire based on prevailing battle lines during peace talks, Fleitz said.
Under Trump Ukraine just has to enter peace talks. It doesn’t have to make a deal. Ukraine continues to get aid during the talks and if Moscow doesn’t talk, Ukraine gets more aid. Since Moscow is the side refusing to negotiate it is going to be hilarious when you’re proven wrong once again.

The PT board posters do not believe in facts or things that are actually true. They prefer Russian propaganda and conspiracy theories.

I like how posters you agree with have their words taken absolutely at face value, but ones you disagree with either don't actually mean what they say or are actual disinformation agents
Weird how that works, isn't it?

I think for some of them its just about sticking it to Russia. They don't ACTUALLY care about Ukraine. Still mad that the big bad Russians (who have shown themselves to be utterly inept at most things not involving a hockey stick for something like 5 decades now) made them hide under a desk during bomb drills as children. They will forever be the Joker to their Batman in their own minds.

Trump is a politician and was on the world stage saying that.
