That was certainly the view of the late occupier, Kirill Stremousov, who said, "Russia is anywhere I drive my tank."

Found the original. This was just a couple of weeks before his car blew up with him in it.

You obviously never studied history.

Russia has cost us billions and they have helped to kill American soldiers.

I’m not making moral judgements. I’m telling you what’s happening.

You may not like it. But Russia is crushing Ukraine, there’s nothing we can do about it, and Ukraine could even lose Kiev.

This is wild, never expected to see this kind of warfare in my lifetime.

Russophobia exists, but it’s an Eastern European phenomenon. You see it especially with the Poles and with Eastern European Jews.

That's called "historical memory."

I mean... I'm sure NAZIphobia is rampant in a lot of places in Europe...

Where is this meme that I'm a Nazi lover coming from? Here you go:

I mean, to be fair to the guy, he may be too stupid to understand that “his ancestors” fighting for Germany in the 30s were nazis. He may have fond memories of playing with paw paw’s iron crosses or random gold teeth or something. And as a reminder, according to his own posts he thinks interracial marriages are horrible, and constantly spits mounds of cartoonishly old fashioned 1930s style anti-semetism, he may have gotten that from “his ancestors”

Chechen leader Kadyrov suffers from pancreatic necrosis, Russian media say

I wonder if it was something he drank?

My Poli Sci buddy I mentioned earlier didn't give either Kadyrov or Lukashenko long odds on surviving this conflict... because they are managing populations that don't want to be under Putin's control, and if Putin seems weakened their populations will want to take advantage of it and fight for their independence... and one way or another they're killed by someone. So he thought it was more Putin's style to kill them before it got to that point and install a Russian with no communal ties over Belarus and Chechnya who will use utter brutality to try to keep them in line.

@BBCSteveR
The Russian press has turned on US House Speaker Mike Johnson with insults such as “total scatterbrain”, “brainwashed” & “the look of a traitor.” Which shows that House approval of the $61bn aid package for Ukraine has struck a raw nerve in Moscow

Russia's decision to partner so closely with the Iranian military really blew up in its face (which was entirely predictable, if course). If Iran hadn't struck Israel, the aid package might not have happened.

ISW April 22nd Update

quote:

Key Takeaways:

The Kremlin is conducting a concerted air and information operation to destroy Kharkiv City, convince Ukrainians to flee, and internally displace millions of Ukrainians ahead of a possible future Russian offensive operation against the city or elsewhere in Ukraine.

Kremlin mouthpieces are seizing on concerns about a future Russian offensive operation against Kharkiv City to conduct a likely coordinated information operation in an effort to create outsized panic among Ukrainians. ISW assesses that the likelihood of a successful Russian ground offensive against Kharkiv is very low if Ukraine receives renewed US military aid rapidly.

Russia is intensifying strike and information operations against Ukrainians in Kharkiv City to exploit ongoing constraints on Ukrainian air defenses and heightened tensions in Ukraine in the likely relatively brief window before the anticipated arrival of US military assistance to frontline areas.

Russian forces appear to be aiming to make a wide penetration of Ukrainian lines northwest of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast, but their ability to do so will likely be blunted by the arrival of US and other Western aid to the frontline.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on April 22 that Finland is taking concrete steps to protect itself against Russian hybrid operations weaponizing Russian-manufactured migrant crises on the Russian-Finnish border.

The Kremlin appears to be highlighting its relationship with Azerbaijan while downplaying deteriorating Russian-Armenia relations following Russia’s failure to prevent Armenia’s loss of Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023.

Russian forces recently advanced near Chasiv Yar, Avdiivka, and Donetsk City and in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area.

The Russian state “Sudoplatov” volunteer drone initiative is reportedly equipping Russian military personnel operating in the Bakhmut direction with cheap and defective first-person view (FPV) drones.

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 23 April 2024

On 22 April, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed their forces had taken control of Novmykhalivka. The town is situated south of Marinka and north-east of Vulhedar, Donetsk. Novomykhalivka, has limited military strategic significance but lies on roads to further settlements that straddle both sides of the Sukhiy Yaly river in southern Donetsk.

Russian forces reportedly entered the town on 9 February 2024, and reached the middle of the town by 24 March. The 79th Separate Air Assault Tavriia Brigade reportedly stated this required a force of 30,000 Russian personnel, with a loss of 300 pieces of equipment in the six months of fighting on the approach to the town.

From entering to clearing the town, a total distance of under 5km, took Russian forces 73 days. That was with the benefit of additional operational reserves. This demonstrates the slow but incremental advances Russian forces are making. On this axis, Russian forces will likely seek to advance towards the town of Kostyantynivka, 2km west from Novomykhalivka.

Further advances north of Vulhedar could eventually allow Vulhedar's defences to be bypassed. Those defences have caused extremely high casualties for Russian ground forces.

So when Russia loses it jumps to the winner? Interesting

This highlights the thing a lot of people don't understand about war, its more about supply chains, amount of resources (people, guns, even basic stuff like food) and the allocation of those resources than anything else.

I think its pretty obvious Ukraine is stretched a little thin right now and on the back foot. But Russia making gains in the east doesn't really tell us anything about what would happen around Kiev. You don't just have your whole army out there, and if they get routed you're free and clear to the capital. Ukraine is picking points of interest that are important to them, and allocating more resources to those points. Russia is doing the same. Where the allocations are misaligned, that piece of ground will likely go to the side with more resources allocated.

It becomes strength on strength when you start talking about going towards a country's capital. And unless you're willing to go scorched earth as the attacker, its really hard to break through when the other side has now had 2 years to plan and prepare for that possibility.

Russians now randomly sending guided bombs into the center of any city within 100km of the front.

Today, this family was near a blast while driving their car in Kostyantynivka.

Wrong

And we just voted to help.

Btw, you need to define “crushing” because it’s been over two years and Ukraine is still fighting back.
