Come on. You’re smarter than this. You know damn well the problem at the border doesn’t require anything from Congress to solve. The problem could be solved today by Biden if he only enforced the laws already on the books. He has all the authority and resources needed to secure the border. He just chooses to leave it wide open.
Literally, just two months ago, the House GOP was saying that they wouldn't pass Ukraine aid unless they also got new laws that would help fix the border.
That's how border security and Ukraine got linked in the first place.
Have all of y'all already stuffed that down the memory hole? Good grief! Even on simple stuff, people rewrite history so quickly and then make believe that it's true.

Wrong. People including myself who is the biggest Ukrainian supporter her are saying no money for Ukraine until the border is secure because Ukraine is the one issue that republicans can use as leverage to get something done. By something I mean actually securing the border and not bending over and taking it up the arse like Langford's deal would have had republicans do.
"Biggest Ukraine supporter" using Putinist talking points to justify holding up Ukraine aid. What a pathetic joke.
No, the GOP could use anything as leverage. They decided to use Ukraine as leverage because Gaetz, MTG, and a bunch of other Putinists don't want any money to go to Ukraine. Ukraine is only leverage because the GOP has decided that Ukraine aid is not important.

Seriously, why doesn't the GOP just say:
"No money for highways until the border is fixed."
Why?
"No money for highways until the border is fixed."
Why?

Exactly, and at the time I thought it was a good move; however, I was wrong.
We never should have done that.

Why are our taxpayers paying pensions of Ukrainians?
Why aren’t we pushing/negotiating for an end to the war?

That’s not really accurate. Unfortunately funding for Ukraine, the border and Israel have all been tied together where there is no hope of success so they may as well send congress on vacation. This is not all Trump’s fault as the popular sentiment seems to be. I often wonder if Biden hadn’t been doing shady dealings with Burisma with his coke head son if he would have lifted a finger at all on 2/24/22 when Russia attacked. But you have the border issue that the Republicans want fixed but the Democrats want a “welcome, come on in!” sign put on it because they see future votes. Then you have Ukraine where i believe a lot of people on both sides want to help but they won’t sacrifice their other wants to see that done. Then you’ve got Israel which is the one not being talked about. The Republicans want to support them but Biden doesn’t and is being controlled by the squad and his radical left pieces of shite that willingly come out and support Palestine over Israel and even got the idiot old man to say Israel went too far on prime time TV for his pitiful national address. So this is all one big cluster frick that i don’t see being resolved anytime soon but it’s not one side’s fault or the other. Both have their wants but there is no real negotiating going on here. It’s just a stalemate. As far as Ukraine in Avdiivka, if they seriously waste some of their best forces like the 47th Mechanized and 3rd Assault and end up getting a lot of their best men killed or captured with equipment being captured or destroyed then I’m not sure what can be done for them anyway. It’s been beyond time to get them out of that place that doesn’t even exist anymore. Set as many claymores, anti-armor mines and boobytraps as you can to kill as many of the dumbfrick Russians when they come in and get the frick out and fall back to a more defensible line. Instead they seem to be just holding that pocket with their best troops putting them at risk. Yes they supplied Mariupol for a long time but then the Azov Brigade had to surrender. That shouldn’t happen to any Ukrainian units in shithole Avdiivka.

We should put our own bill out for discussion. A border rehab bill.
It should address border security problems (wall, checkpoints, agents).
It should give the border states money to review each illegal, to process any that can do valuable jobs, and to send back those with criminal backgrounds, and who are shiftless.
And the Congress needs to charge the office of president with implementing our current laws unless money to run the White House will be cut in half.

Any bill on the border is basically a non starter with the Democrats. Biden needs all
the support he can get from his own party, even if it’s from the crazy ones like AOC, Ilhan Omar, etc because even the lib media can’t cover his absolute obvious lack of cognitive ability to hold the highest office in the world. Hell Biden even sold materials already bought by the Trump administration that had yet to be constructed for pennies on the dollar just to get it out of there so he can stick out his chest and say blame Trump, basically the only phrase I think he’s capable of saying anymore. When they feed him his oatmeal in the morning and makes sure he goes poopy I think they rehearse the same 2 words with him. Mr. President all you need to say is “blame Trump”.

So what? You use the bill to frame the issue.
You use it to demonstrate that your party is about public safety and preserving our public institutions.
If we can’t show the American voters that the Dems are allowing the country to decay then shame on us.
Show America a real difference on s as n issue that’s easy to understand.

Are you comparing paving a road to securing a national border? Are you actually willing to put Ukrainian aid above your own country's national border? No Border. No Country.
You are starting to remind me of that YouTuber that looks like Eddie Munster. Jake Broe. He has gone off the deep end also.

I 100% agree with you but the honest truth is my own party, the Republican Party, can’t agree even with themselves. That’s all before the liberal implants like Romney who are really Democrats fricking things up. I truly hope Trump wins this election but it is going to be very hard when our party is fractured and the Democrats will always come together over Trump bad and they will go to any lengths, lawful or not, to make sure they don’t have to face him again as POTUS because there will be revenge served up as it should for the absolute travesty the Biden administration has made this country look terrible to Americans as well as look weak to the rest of the world.

Stoltenberg: Ukraine to receive 1 million drones from allies in 2024
by Martin Fornusek and Teah Pelechaty and The Kyiv Independent news desk
Allies are planning to join forces and supply Ukraine with a million drones this year, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on Feb. 15 following a NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, according to a Kyiv Independent reporter.
Ukrainian officials have repeatedly emphasized the importance of unmanned systems in the war in Russia. In addition to foreign supplies, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine aims to also produce 1 million drones domestically in 2024.
"Today, we also met with Ukraine in the NATO-Ukraine Council. Defense Minister (Rustem) Umerov briefed allies on the latest developments on the ground, and we addressed the importance of our continued support," Stoltenberg said.
"A group of allies is coming together with the goal of delivering 1 million drones to Ukraine."

Better yet, no "continuing resolutions" until the border is fixed. A government not doing one of its most important jobs, is not worth keeping open.

That’s the problem, the neocons ultimately don’t care about America, they care about Israel, and as long as they run Washington, the US won’t be Washington’s first priority.
