Looks like the new Ukrainian commander is going to pull another Bakhmut which is what he’s famous for.
Syrskyi was also in command at Debaltseve in 2015.
3,000 men probably died in the retreat there.

15k a kilo for hash??? Apparently I know what business I'm starting over there when this war is over.

According to an article in Forbes (paywall so no link), Ukraine has destroyed 10% of all the tanks Russia has deployed in country just around Avdiivka. Not counting the entire rest of the line. Typical Russian doctrine though, soldiers are replaceable and not of consequence.

Where was the honor in 2014?

The good news is that such views increasingly isolate them from the opinions of most Americans. The average Joe still knows that Russia has 5000 nuclear weapons aimed at us, and that helping the Norks and the Mullahs is absolutely opposed to the American interest.
The Senate is going to give final passage to the supplemental aid bill tonight -- likely something like 4:00 AM.

No. We gave them our WORD.
No. The GHWB administration gave them their word. The Clinton administration changed direction, GWB, Obama, Trump, and Biden have all had a different opinion on the issue.
If we were worried about the credibility of a country's word, how do you explain Russia saying it had no intention to invade Ukraine and then invading Ukraine?

What they and the left don't get is that Trump is always negotiating. If you take his statements at face value, you've already lost. He always leaves a way out and the funny thing is that the cult will follow his decision even when they've been thinking the opposite. The Never Trumpers will be aghast and left in the dust.
Interesting that my anti Putin Russian CEO friend gets this easy as pie and laughs about it.

Yep. If Trump said tomorrow that we need to help Ukraine more because Russia is the ally of China and Iran, then guys like SirWinston would piss on Putin so fast.

I’m a Trump supporter and i support giving aid to Ukraine. I’ve said it several times on here. You can be one and believe in the other. Don’t think for a second that Trump wouldn’t send weapons to Ukraine if Putin tried to hardball Trump in peace negotiations if he were to win the election. The one good thing about Trump’s ego is that he doesn’t like to lose or lose face. He knows we have the bigger stick when it comes down to it. Putin has his economy on a war footing and that won’t be great for the economy the longer it goes on edie silly when all their $5 million dollar tanks and vehicles being produced are just getting blown up by a $5K FPV drone with an RPG tied to it. They are being forced to use export T-90 tanks to help fill their ranks too which means a T-90 not sold to another country is no money for Russia.

Trump has said that if Putin doesn't make a deal, that Ukraine gets enough weapons to crush the demoralized Russian Army in Ukraine.

Trump would make a PR exercise out of any agreement with Putin but afterwards would avoid the whole mess. Meanwhile, Putin would quickly return to the hybrid war against Ukraine which in time would be followed by open fighting. Just as it is now, with the only difference being that Putin would be re-armed and the US/NATO may have Donbas Fatigue by then. Certainly Trump has never shown that he has the character to fight the Russians.
No, there is no negotiation with a psychopath like Putin. We either stand on his throat or we lose.

1994 Trilateral Statement
"The Massandra Accords set the stage for the ultimately successful trilateral talks. As the United States mediated between Russia and Ukraine, the three countries signed the Trilateral Statement on January 14, 1994. Ukraine committed to full disarmament, including strategic weapons, in exchange for economic support and security assurances from the United States and Russia. Ukraine agreed to transfer its nuclear warheads to Russia and accepted U.S. assistance in dismantling missiles, bombers, and nuclear infrastructure. Ukraine’s warheads would be dismantled in Russia, ands earlier preconditions, but it would not accede to the NPT without further security assurances." Ukraine would receive compensation for the commercial value of the highly enriched uranium.
Ukraine ratified START on February 3, 1994, repealing its earlier preconditions, but it would not accede to the NPT without further security assurances.
