What’s with the flood of political talk people? Did Marjorie Taylor Greene post something about Ukraine?

All the Putinists are hoping that the US is about to cut off American military aid to Ukraine.

They will very soon be disappointed, as both the House and Senate have passed defense bills with Ukraine aid, and the Senate voted Wednesday night to go to conference to compromise on the exact number.

Key Takeaways:

Ukrainian officials stated that Ukrainian forces have established bridgeheads on the east (left) bank of Kherson Oblast and are conducting ground operations aimed at pushing Russian forces out of artillery range of the west (right) bank of the Dnipro River.

Russian forces appear to be applying lessons learned from attempts to man Russian multilayered defenses in western Zaporizhia Oblast during the Ukrainian counteroffensive to current Russian defensive operations in Kherson Oblast.

Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces have suffered roughly a brigade’s worth of casualties since Ukrainian forces started ground operations on the east bank of Kherson Oblast on October 17, reportedly forcing Russian forces to transfer combat power from elsewhere in Ukraine to Kherson Oblast.

Russian forces conducted a series of drone and missile strikes against Ukraine on the night of November 16 to 17.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Israel-Hamas war has negatively affected Ukraine’s shell supplies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov attempted to dismiss criticisms of the Russian government and the war in Ukraine as inevitable yet unfounded and urged Russian citizens to self-censor.

Russian authorities detained several Federal Security Service (FSB) employees on November 16 for accepting a five-billion-ruble ($55.6 million) bribe in connection with the dismissal of a corruption case.

Russian forces continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, near Avdiivka, west and southwest of Donetsk City, in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast and advanced in several sectors of the front.

The United Kingdom Ministry of Defense (UK MoD) reported on November 17 that the Russian military is likely using updated surveillance aircraft due to concerns over Ukraine deploying Western-provided combat aircraft.

Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab (Yale HRL) reported on November 16 that Russian and Belarusian authorities have forcibly deported at least 2,442 Ukrainian children between the ages of six and 17 to Belarus via Russia since February 24, 2022.

It'll be interesting to see if attitudes on this change as Europe foots more and more of the bill. There has been a MASSIVE increase in "WE MUST END THE WAR IMMEDIATELY" from a lot of different angles, and none of it corresponds to what people are seeing on the actual battlefield. If I didn't know better, I'd almost think something is about to go down... and it ain't a successful Russian offensive.

Well Russia’s attack on Advidka is a bloodbath. It has been losing around a dozen armored vehicles per day and > 1000 soldiers per day this week. Also according to my friends in Russia, Putin’s recent announcement of plans for mobilization of its economy went over like a wet fart in church with the Russian citizens. Russians now have to worry about the government nationalizing their job and being late paying them or not paying them like they do with the soldiers and other government run businesses. So it’s completely reasonable that Russian propaganda is ramping up its talking points about peace talks now to distract from its loses and potential problems in the Motherland.

Yes, here were the daily losses that Andrew Perpetua saw yesterday:

But Russia is gaining ground on the Avdiivka front. I predicted a few days ago that Russia will take it this winter, at whatever cost.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
18 November 2023

Over the last week, the most intense ground combat has been taking place in three areas: on the Kupiansk axis, in Luhansk Oblast; around Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast; and on the left bank of the Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast, where Ukrainian forces have established a bridgehead.

Neither side has achieved substantial progress in any of these areas. Russia continues to suffer particularly heavy casualties around Avdiivka. Eyewitness reports suggest small uncrewed aerial vehicles and artillery (especially cluster rounds) continue to play a major role in disrupting the attacks of both sides.

As colder winter weather sets in earnest in eastern Ukraine, there are few immediate prospects of major changes in the frontline.

The vaunted "spring offensive" that never materialized, even after 10s of billions spent, nothing, nada. Suddenly a couple 100 (at most) old folks in a couple dinghies cross some creek and we hear "its on", heck D-day pales in comparison to this assault

Let me ask you fellas, ya think this has anything to do with the holidays coming up, cargo pants wife wants to go shopping, and their sugar daddy has cut off the spending?

Things are never as they appear. For instance, boy the head of the military holds one interview talking about a stalemate and cargo pants has a fit, ya think maybe the ole general got cargo pants to sweeten the split on the kickbacks they are stealing from the US funding, just maybe, huh. We know cargo pants has fired leaders in two different waves for just that, wanting a bigger split, only the head of the military knows too much, better to give him a better cut. So that means we have to double down on what we demand from the US so his cut is not reduced.

And suddenly, in return, cargo pants goes after the people in his govt who were revealing bidens dirty deeds, after all these years, why now, and what for, ya ever ask that question?

Can you link something on this? All I'm seeing is the mobilization from last year and articles speculating about another mobilization

You used the term "cargo pants" 5 times in 1 post.

That's really, really obsessive over another man's clothes.

Yes, and Russia is unlikely to run out of men anytime soon.

Longer term, if Ukraine gains air-parity (and especially if they gain air superiority) these choices by Russia will be disastrous, since Ukraine can actually recruit foreign fighters while Russia really can't.

Some fans of Azov have created a great website in English with a detailed analysis of all the Russian myths about the unit. The site contains a lot of facts, photos and videos that completely destroy the Kremlin's propaganda. Check it out and share it!

Serious question....I thought the stuff about azov was well documented? Wasn't the us congress going to declare them some sort of terrorist or extremist group some years back?

You are correct. They are claiming it was basically Russian propaganda that influenced public perception of them. Take for it what you will, just thought it was interesting that they went through the effort to develop the website

Yes, like I’ve been saying it’s basically a stalemate right now. Neither side is getting an advantage on the frontlines.

Who is going to blink first?

Russian propaganda is cranking it out. They are counting on the West to blink first.

The far left sure as heck hollered about the Azov Battalion starting 2014 AFTER kept Russia from taking Melitopol.

Edit Not Melitopol but Mariupol

Akhmetov made a deal to prevent the the rebels from taking it, he wanted to protect his assets there.

Mariupol was one of the epicenters of the uprising, which is why Azov was stationed there. They were supposed to put their boot on the locals throats, and prevent any further issues.

Sure, little Green Men and all. Some uprising.

They stopped a land bridge to Crimea. That is not something Putin or his underlings would have made a deal for

It’s been this way really since the Ukrainians pushed the Russians back after the initial invasion. I’ve noticed in the footage I’ve been seeing, portions of the front line are even beginning to take on that shattered lunar-like landscape much like the Western Front in WWI.

All the tree lines look like this in the south due that is where Russian defensive positions are.
