British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
13 November 2023

In September 2023, independent Russian media outlet Vertska reported that up to 15% of Russian soldiers in Ukraine were using drugs, including amphetamines and cannabis, and that they were easy to obtain even on the frontline.

These reports are credible and follow numerous reports since the invasion of a high rate of disciplinary incidents, crimes and deaths related to alcohol abuse amongst the Russian force.

Russian commanders likely frequently punish drug and alcohol abusers by posting them to Storm-Z assault detachments, which have effectively become penal units. One of the core drivers of poor Russian discipline and substance abuse likely remains the continued lack of opportunity for combat troops to rotate away from the front line.

Ukraine to receive 60 Gepard artillery systems US bought from Jordan
European Pravda, Ukrainska Pravda — Monday, 13 November 2023, 16:43

A Dutch media outlet De Telegraf has reported that Ukraine may shortly receive 60 self-propelled artillery systems Gepard, which the US had purchased for this purpose from Jordan.

Source: an article in De Telegraaf from 13 November, as reported by European Pravda

Details: These are Germany-produced systems which the Netherlands sold to Jordan in 2013 receiving €21 million for the deal. The Dutch army sold the last 60th system in 2016.

Now the US decided to buy 60 track vehicles for €110 million in order to send them to Ukraine.

It's your desperation now. You are reaching, clinging on to anything that you can. I have to pull the life preserver back and head back to shore.

Didn't anyone tell them that some random dude on TD.com claims the war is over?

Maybe they're regrouping for their "we won and Ukraine will stop dropping bombs on us via drone" celebrations?

Oh, PS -- Russia either moves serious numbers of people / gear to the south or Ukraine will basically push all the way to Crimea. It's looking pretty serious across the Dnieper right now.

*ETA -- It's serious enough that Russia released (then retracted) the info from the MoD. LINK

Are they moving to a more advantageous place in order to start the peace talks that were mentioned earlier?

Sure, it's impressive, if it works.

With Russian weapon gear, "if it works" is a HUUUGE "if."

From your link. Meaning that Russia has more than one new agency.

How many does Zelensky have? More than one?

But why?

The German flak panzer is good against drones.

Gepards are huge for Ukraine and they need to find many more of them wether that be German Army long term storage or from other countries. They the best defense against Shaheeds and other drones and most importantly they can operate and keep up with armored vehicles pushing forward while giving them a form of air support.
