My prediction: Putin will be assassinated by his own people within a year regardless of how this turns out.
They key the media hasn’t fully understood, is all the poorly trained kids send into Ukraine. You can bet your arse the Russian military did that completely on purpose because they experienced guys wanted no part of this shite. They will probably be in complete control of county when this is all said and done

Perhaps they are saving the bulk of the air force for a larger conflict?
Throwing a dart at a board here, but if the POW stories claiming they thought they were on some training mission have validity (which I'm doubtful of) then it would make sense that the airforce couldn't be used as much as more of the military would have to know what they were actually attacking

The way the Ukranians have been handling the POWs, with putting everything out there, letting them call home, starting a damn hotline for Russians to call and see if their sons have been captured is top notch hearts and minds type stuff. They've used social media to their benefit, and not just with POWs.

Save for hardcore dysfunctional alcoholics, I don’t see why anyone shouldn’t drink themselves into an oblivion over this bullshite. We honestly could be in the start of WWIII. It’s reminding me strongly of the start of WWI. My bags are packed and guns/ammo are in the car in case it happens. I’m underprepared, but it is a strong possibility at this point.

If you really think this is WW3, you should hightail it to some isolated place like the Maldives or Figi. Most places in the USA would get smoked by nukes.

We'd likely still be aerial attack and cruise missiles only after three days. We bombed for 42 days in the First Gulf War. Second Gulf War had ground troops going in after 48 hours, which most people were surprised about.

The great thing about the worst potential happening is there is no use worrying about it. We are screwed. The key will be to try to die immediately rather than of radiation sickness. The potential latter will be the only reason you need a gun and at least one or a few bullets for you and the fam.
