Russian troops have seized the river port and railway station in Kherson, Mayor of Kherson Igor Kolyhav said.

According to CNN, Russian military vehicles entered Kherson after heavy shelling and appear to have taken the southern city.

More of that Ukranian social media wizadry:

Ukrainian Special Forces were reportedly able to Target their first Russian Military Unit using a Government created Website that urges Ukrainian Citizens to post Russian Military Locations as well as Abandoned Equipment, if you would like to help:

They have created a hotline to, in part, report abandoned Russian equipment. Good grief.

What will be interesting going forward is seeing if Russia will be able to hold these cities/towns after their troops advance to the next target. Back in the separatist region they have already lost one town they had taken to the Ukranians.

They were signaling at somebody to stop filming and then a minute later the guy points his rifle at him and shoots at him. Kinda looked like a hit but the video ends so I dunno.

It's amazing that they are able to keep their cell phone infrastructure up.

Bleak. Very true, but bleak. Land that warhead right on my house.

I don’t think that, but it’s truly on the table for the first time in my lifetime. Look up how World War I started if you think you’re immune from this.

The great thing about the worst potential happening is there is no use worrying about it. We are screwed. The key will be to try to die immediately rather than of radiation sickness. The potential latter will be the only reason you need a gun and at least one or a few bullets for you and the fam.

Yes, correct. There are no locations outside of Denver, Colorado Springs, and NE Colorado that should be nuked. The Rockies are a natural refuge to anyone who lives out here.

Save for hardcore dysfunctional alcoholics, I don’t see why anyone shouldn’t drink themselves into an oblivion over this bull shite. We honestly could be in the start of WWIII. It’s reminding me strongly of the start of WWI. My bags are packed and guns/ammo are in the car in case it happens. I’m underprepared, but it is a strong possibility at this point.

Being completely serious, you mentioned being in Utah, you may need to take a day or two and go for a hike in the mountains and not be connected. Mountains that provide a great natural defense if your worst fears come true while also clearing your mind and calming down.

Fun fact, my brother was allowed to close the blast doors at Cheyenne Mtn once when he was there for a meeting. He said it was quite the spooky experience.

I believe you are, but what do you think people a century ago were thinking over WWI? WWII it was obvious when that broke, but there’s a reason ambassadors from Ukraine are saying stop worrying about causing WWIII, because WWIII is here. I’m still putting it at 10% and am encouraged today that China is calling for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, but it’s still a strong possibility we may be in it.

The first one I don't know what was up with. The second is video of the hit on the location from a distance.

How old are you?

Scariest moment of my life was when Berlin Wall came down and the USSR collapsed. It was electric to see happening, but in the back of everyone's minds was- will the generals allow this to happen? I legit feared they'd invade the Warsaw Pact to squash it all, and things would spiral rapidly. I was in college at the time...

interestingly enough, taking a German History class. I delayed my final paper for a week, since the topic was "What's the biggest event in German History?"
My professor bitched, but I successfully argued that we were watching that moment live, and whatever I would have written on was fall less impactful.

Is that the concrete dumpster in the field?
I can't help but laugh at the thought of the world being repopulated from a soybean field in West-central Mississippi.

ETA: I know it isn't a dumpster. Just messing with you.
