Early on in this war he came in here swearing up and down the Ukrainian Eastern Front was collapsing then said that ISW maps had to zoom out to show the front. However, the map that was "zoomed out" was actually zoomed in and had just been shifted.

He does realize that Russia is not paying its own troops, doesn't he? Even if Wagner fails to overthrow the Russian government he will not get paid for his posts or his time.

I lived in Moscow for a few years in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I emailed my friends from Moscow and I was not expecting a reply this soon but one did reply. He and his family are on a train from Moscow to Sochi going on vacation and he said they have been stuck on a side track north of Rostov for hours because the rail line has been closed by the government.

It's because they were never really conservative. Publicly espousing conspiracy-based, right-wing authoritarianism wasn't really much of an option until recently. So, they supported the Tea Party and opposed Big Government when Obama was President, but now they support Putin as the world's only chance to defeat the globalists and the international Jews running the world.
