The Ukrainian "Bakhmut Demon" Telegram channel says that some regular Russian troops are indeed fighting for Prigozhin:
It's really the only way that anything makes sense. Prigozhin must believe that significant chunks of the Russian military will rally to his side. And maybe they will.
What I don't understand is why Putin isn't already on TV. At this point, all the theories about Putin playing 4-D chess and pitting rivals against each other? That needs to go out the window, because this is shaping up to be a disaster for Russia.
