They are going to protest to secure the release of the protesters that were arrested. Many Georgians are also wary or don't support the fact that so many Russians have been allowed into the country. They can move there and are allowed to stay for one year. Many believe that this.presents an opportunity for the Kremlin to plant "their" Russians there or Putin could use his favorite "Adolf" tactic in the future of crying about the persecution of Russian ethnic citizens. He has used it several times in the past in different areas. He doesn't need to as long as the Georgia Dream Party is in power. The Georgian government has also threatened to strip citizenship from any Georgian that is fighting for Ukraine. Just take a.look at what they are currently doing to former president Saakashvili. Putin is getting his revenge on him through the Georgian government. He is a dead man if he isn't released to the west for medical treatment. 80-85% of Georgian citizens support joining the EU and/or Nato. Bush promised them membership in 2008 but Merkel blocked it. Georgia is another country that is screwed by it's past and geography.
The Kremlin has expressed "concern" over the events taking place in Georgia.

That map. I tend to forget how much Ukrainian territory Russia held just 1 year ago.

What was that map supposed to represent?
It looks like pure fiction.

That’s generally what the lines looked like 2 weeks after the invasion started.

everything out of his mouth is close to pure fiction.
The map is kinda sorta accurate except Russian held in the West was more like highways with contested nearby than this map shows.

Now the Belarusian KGB is accusing the Polish of being involved in the sabotage on that Russian AWAC.

Ritter map
While they may have advanced to some of the lines in the Ritter map they had yet to consolidate control over large areas behind those lines, and in many instances were no where near what is being implied. While I believe it is a good representation of what Russia hoped to achieve and their overall strategy, it is wish casting to say that they had achieved that by the 8th of March.
The image below is the ISW map of the situation on the 8th of March, the day the Ritter map was posted. I realise ISW can be considered to be biased the other way, but from everything that we have seen information wise, across both spheres, they have been relatively accurate.
The next one shows what has been the maximised extension of Russian penetration by the 23rd-24th of March, still no where near Ritters map, near Kyiv the start of the first counter offensive is beginning.
This is 11 days later on the 3-4th of April.
If you watch the interactive map in till now it is fascinating to see the momentum shifts. The the first 3-4 days saw marked progression into Ukraine by Russia that then halts and stymies making gradual progression until late March.
At that point Ukraine's northern counter offensive pushes Russia out of the Kyiv area and then rolls across the north back east to Kharkiv. Russia in the meantime consolidates it's gains in the south towards Crimea as well as in the north beyond Kharkiv with obvious intent to try and pincer the Donbass forces.
Meanwhile Ukraine makes slow inroads to Kharkiv until they push them back Lyman, eliminating the northren pincer. They then move to take Kherson.
Since then it has been back to very minor shifts with Russia looking to be attempting a slow grinding pincer movement pushing out west from northern Dontesk province and north through Velykonovosilkivskyi raion. Watching this shows that the Vuhledar push appears to be in support of that pincer and Bahkmut is at the base of the northern pincer which goes a lot of the way to why Ukraine has been so adamant at holding it.
Edit: Clarity, added Ritter map for reference.

So it’s old news? Got it.

Like I said. It was “generally” correct. Up until this war I’ve never seen a frontline map that was so specific and detailed. They’ve just never existed before. The generally accepted way is to draw a “front line” along areas that certain force controls.

Few weeks back they did the same thing with Kalingrad. Plugging the holes.
Of course timely today given Belarus is now trying to blame the Poles for the drone attack on the Russian plane.

That is what the ISW one is showing, areas where Russians have penetrated to and gained control, or at least contest it. As technology evolves it is not surprising that we get better real time or near real time information leading to more accurate representations.
The Ritter one takes the drawing a line along point of control to the next level though and makes it a single analogous one which simply does not happen in even the best strategies and certainly has not happened in this war.

If the Ukrainians are truly set on defending Bakhmut then I don’t know why they don’t try to put together a force to attack one of their flanks. Again, I have no idea of their forces in and around the area to pull off a flanking maneuver but it would be a good way to take some pressure off the guys in the center of the city.

These clowns are such walking contradictions. The PT certainly celebrates this guy, never mind gems like this:
quote:
In the inaugural episode, Bentley explained that he hoped to bring communism 2.0 to Donbass. But unlike the Soviet Union, he claimed, this new state would be friendly to religion. “We’ve got Lenin and we’ve got God on our side and cannot be defeated,” he said.
People like him are lost souls looking for something to fill the void. They should be pitied.

Yeah, Lenin and God don't mix very well.
