Idk what’s what for sure on either, but back to back days of these two stories does feel to be a bit of an angle whether actually true or not.
Any reporting that purports to detail the inner working of military decision making or processes should be assumed to be speculation at best.
We don't get accurate information on Putin's health, what he said to his generals or how Ukraine targets HIMARS strikes.
This is just chatter designed to get clicks in an actual information vacuum.

I think we assumed this was likely the case, just feels an extra step for it to actually be reported.
It's reported because Ukraine wanted it to be reported, because the story is about Ukraine wanting ATACMS. In the story:
quote:
“You’re controlling every shot anyway, so when you say, ‘We’re afraid that you’re going to use it for some other purposes,’ well, we can’t do it even if we want to,” the senior [Ukrainian] official said.

And we would love for them to have em, but, our inventory of that munition is not high.

So, apparently this is a recent photo from Vuhledar.
I should have taken a screen cap and included it in my previous post about this. The link below is a video slide show of this and other images cataloging 31 total vehicles lost near Vuhleder. The proximity of the dead tanks etc are a testament to their poor training. The other thing that is insane to me is when they come under fire the infantry runs to all the armor. I understand it seems safe to them and the cover is nice but they draw fire like magnets. Some sort of munition hits the tank and takes out a whole squad of infantry.

So you want to be a panzer grenadier huh?
Learn to dig and get away from the tanks.

Not only are they getting blown up along with the armor. (Few videos out in the past couple days showing it) but a video out today showing an armored vehicle turning, running over a couple men, then dragging what is left of them….

Ukrainian command has to hold their reserves till they can confirm the direction of the true, full on attack that it appears Russia is about to launch/just launched. the time that reserves/mobile counter forces are held in reserve the greater the change of an offensive breakthrough.
Unless we are reading their mail, and Ukraine knows what’s up.

Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin announced on February 9 that the Wagner Group has entirely stopped recruiting prisoners. In a response to a press comment, Prigozhin claimed that Wagner’s recruitment of prisoners has "completely stopped" and that "all obligations are being fulfilled" for those currently under Wagner’s employ.[1] Prigozhin also absurdly claimed that over 10 million Americans have applied to join Wagner

The Kremlin continues to pursue measures to gradually prepare Russia’s defense-industrial base for a protracted war in Ukraine while avoiding wider economic mobilization. Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives on February 9 and instructed the agency to support federal subjects in developing the production of unmanned aircraft systems
Medvedev visited a tank manufacturing plant in Omsk Oblast on February 9 and stated that Russia needs to increase the production of various armaments, including modern tanks, in response to Western military assistance to Ukraine.[6] Dutch open-source group Oryx reported that Russian forces have lost 1,012 destroyed tanks in Ukraine with an additional 546 tanks captured by Ukrainian forces.[7] Oryx reported that these combined losses represent roughly half the tanks that Russian forces committed to Ukraine at the start of the invasion.[8] Fifteen hundred tanks are enough to equip more than 15 tank regiments or brigades or about 150 battalion tactical groups.

A prominent Wagner-linked Russian milblogger called for the dismissal of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu over a Russian military uniform procurement scandal. Many prominent Russian military bloggers harshly criticized Shoigu and the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) over news that the 22-year-old son of the Russian Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for State Property Management won a contract to supply the Russian military with new uniforms

The Kremlin continues to show that it is unwilling to curb divisive rhetoric from ultranationalist pro-war figures. Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov publicly sparred with Duma Deputy General Viktor Sobolev following Sobolev’s criticism of Kadyrov’s statements on grooming standards in the Russian military being discriminatory against Muslims and calls for the Russian military to fight satanism in Poland.[13] Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on February 9 that the Kremlin is "not participating in this controversy and would not like to give any assessments" about it.[14] The Kremlin will continue to tolerate divisive rhetoric from ultranationalist figures as it seeks to appeal to the wider pro-war community.

This caught my attention as it seemed like another flip flop by Germany.
The translation of the article the tweet is based upon is a bit messy but it seems Netherlands was only leasing the tanks from Germany, and had only considered buying them to send to Ukraine, but this was decided against by themselves and Germany for military considerations.
This is also coupled with the fact that the Netherlands is partnering with Denmark and Germany to send about 100 Leopard 1's this year and more next year if required.
WNL - Defence Minister Ollogren says they won't send leased Leopard 2s to Ukraine.(Needs translation)
Other sources:
The National News - Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
BNR - Netherlands won't send Leopard 2 tanks.(Needs translation)
Mainly I see it as Poland having a dig at Germany through Visegrad.
Edit: Clarity.

Well the thread has been saying they need to work better at combined arms, perhaps they just mistranslated....

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 after's Obama's color revolution.
Ukraine citizens of Russian ethnic decent in Donbas didn't have tanks, planes, artillery, helicopters, etc. Russia supplied the weapons and troops to start the war.
Innocent people die in wars.
Russia started the war. Russian and the innocent people of Donbas used a SAM to shoot down a civilian jetliiner and kill hundreds of innocents.
F00K Russia and the dumbasses who support them.

It’s not just not high, it’s laughably low. That’s why ATACMS won’t make it to Ukraine. We honestly don’t have them to give or we wouldn’t have any fit ourselves. I think this war and China fricking around will increase their production though.

It actually looks like a couple of those tanks were salvageable. Russia has been the biggest supplier of arms to Ukraine by a mile in this war.

What’s the rationale behind bunching up like a school of fish. I’m certainly no tactician, but I thought they fanned out when contact with the enemy was made.
I don’t know why, but with raw troops you bunch them up to give them courage and prevent them from running.

CHISINAU, Moldova (AP) — Moldova’s government collapsed Friday as pro-Western Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita resigned, adding to a series of crises that have gripped the small nation since Russia invaded its neighbor, Ukraine.
Gavrilita told a news conference that the “time has come for me to announce my resignation” and said no one expected her government, elected in the summer of 2021, “would have to manage so many crises caused by Russian aggression in Ukraine.”
