only if you want to conquer the land. we will never have any real desire to conquer china in the historic sense.

that account is pretty typical historically of russia and how they view things. i guess due to years of brainwashing they assumed it would be different.

In what scenario would we ever be fighting a ground war with China? Or with anyone on a scale that large?

We have absolute air and naval superiority over everyone.

While that may be, ground forces are required.

More than anywhere.

If you think Americans are bad about conspiracy theories then you haven't travelled much.

It's 10x worse almost everywhere and probably 20x worse in Russia.

Completely mainstream across the globe.

I didn't say we were. If something happened, it won't be won with air/naval only.

Our lack of numerical production of things like artillery shells have been augmented by our number of allies across the globe and the understand that if something big were to ever really happen that everyone would cone to each other’s aid, hence military exercises with many nations. Since WWII the United States has made no bones about where our power lies which is in the air and on the seas, particularly in the air where we still have no competition. China is however producing a massive navy now so that is a threat that needs to be dealt with by keeping our own navy both modern and in large volume of ships. Our carrier strike groups are what sets us apart from China on the sea though. They have lots of destroyers but we have many more carriers which means we can move air power in more numbers faster and more efficiently. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the private sector start ramping up artillery production to restock our reserves. War is big business and there is always money to be had in it. That’s not a bad thing even though sone may see it as such. As for Ukraine, it would be great for them to be able to build 152 and 155 shells for their guns in places like Lviv far away from the front lines but it’s really not feasible with the risk of attack as well as the time it would take to build a plant from scratch in those areas. There’s no real easy answer to that problem besides countries outside of Ukraine ramping up production both for Ukraine and to replace their own stocks.

China would love to have a drone war. Those frickers lover their video games.
Pretty sure China is working on their own drones. Probably out manufacturing us 100 to one.
Cost a thousand dollars for someone to take a shite at the pentagon. We get no bang for our buck.

Speaking of (performative) nutters there is a new clip from Solovyov's solo show where he goes from his breathless Darth Vader schtick to OML table-pounding mania. I think this is the best example of a Rant melt in Russian that I have ever seen.

YT

As a bonus here is the People's Governor of the DPR talking about killing the millions of possessed satanist Ukrainians if they don't see the light. I don't think he could be more clear when he uses the word exterminate.

He said he believed Putin when Putin said Russia hadn't tried to interfere in the 2016 election despite all the evidence he had from our national security folks.

Are you really stupid enough to actually believe that?

Meh. I think you're conflating the collusion thing with just interference. They did try to interfere (like they do every election and we do in other countries). The collusion stuff is a whole different story.

What China is not loving is the advent of naval drone warfare. A few hundred of those in the Taiwan Strait and their amphibious operation is a nonstarter.

Yep a couple hundred naval drones attacking at the same time as a ASM missile swarm launched from Taiwan would really f**k up an amphibious operation.

The evidence that was presented in the Mueller Report as well as Robert Mueller's testimony after the Report was published which showed that Russian interference in the 2016 election was much more limited than intelligence officials believed in 2016. The evidence that Durham has presented in court that showed that most of the evidence of that supported Russian collusion and interference stories was actually disinformation coming from the Clinton campaign and using intelligence officials as willing middle men and women to make it look credible.

Well said. They got the GRU, SVR, and Wagner trolls dead to rights and it was similar to what's been going on in European elections.

The interference stuff was basically just Russian trolls posting on social media.

Well that's not true at all. Mueller found copious amounts of Russian interference. What he didn't find was collusion.

It's not a personal attack on Trump or his stans to acknowledge that Russia tried to sow discord in our election process.
