Rebuilding a dam is not an accounting procedure to purge deep storage of old weapons and ammo, all dating back decades.

Because peace to Russia right now looks like a flying dildo with no lube. No leverage no peace.

While I don't deny the sentiment behind your assertion, it's hard for me to imagine the idiots in Washington being able to pull it off.

We”ve still got $300 billion in frozen Russian assets to draw off. It seems poetic to think that Russia is actually funding Ukraine’s defense.

Well if I had a say in where my tax dollars go I’d rather have it go there instead of funding welfare programs or going to countries like Afghanistan. We spent billions on training and weapons for the Afghans and they collapsed in just a few weeks. At least our weapons this time are going to people who are actually standing and fighting for their homeland.

No doubt this will get downed out in the page after page of bickering, but for anyone interested below is a link to a video diary a Ukrainian journalist in Kherson kept or his family living under occupation. It’s 15 minutes, but very compelling.

More missile strikes on electrical grid infrastructure last night. My heart breaks for the innocent civilians. God comfort them in their suffering. May this civil war among Slavic brothers come to an expeditious end.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 22 October 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

Russian forces continue to reinforce crossing points over the Dnipro River, and have completed a barge bridge alongside the damaged Antonovskiy bridge in Kherson.

Although the use of heavy barge bridges was almost certainly included in Soviet-era planning for operations in Europe, it is likely this is the first time the Russian have needed to utilise this type of bridge for decades. Using civilian barges likely provides Russia additional material and logistics benefits, having lost significant quantities of military bridging equipment and engineering personnel during its invasion.

If the barge bridge sustains damage, it is almost certain Russia will seek to repair or replace damaged sections quickly, as their forces and crossing points over the Dnipro river come under increasing pressure in Kherson.

Seems like maybe to send a message about the build up in Belarus and potentially threaten weapons transfers to Ukraine

They’re in Romania, about 500 miles from the Belarusian border. I believe they’re just replacing another brigade that’s been there for a while.

Constanta, Romania is home to a massive US logistics base that was used to ferry troops and supplies into both Iraq and Afghanistan. It has housing for several thousand troops, at least it did in 2012 when I was there, and a large runway. The Marines had an annual rotation there starting in about 2010 I believe. I believe the army has had a brigade there since the start of the war back in February.

But the 101st hasn’t been in Europe since WWII. They may just be bodies replacing bodies, but I wonder if it being the 101st as the replacement bodies is the messaging. Could be wrong, would certainly defer to you guys, just where my mind went first

Putin has laid the groundwork for the use of a nuke in Ukraine. If he is indeed crazy enough to do it, then I hope we don’t stop until that bizarre nation is dismembered once and for all.

Damn dude, settle down.

According to WIKIPEDIA we only had 143 troops in Romania until the 101st showed up.

Edit, we know this to be wrong based on this article from 1Q22, where 3000 were sent to Poland and Romania.
