I would double that to $100B but leave most of it as discretionary so we don't have to spend it if it is not needed. I don't want to leave to chance that the MTG's in the House could hold back aid because of their hate for libs.

$100 billion? That’s all? How many tens of billions have we spent already?

You’re f’in nuts. Hopefully “the MTG’s in the House”, and more politicians rein in some of this insanity.

How much is the rest of the world chipping in? China is sitting back while we plow deeper into debt.

What’s the end game? What’s it going to cost us?

Sneaking up tanks with AT-4 is gonna bring a lot of casualties for the poor bastards that get stuck doing it.

NATO heads don't give a shite about Ukrainian casualties. That’s what we’re paying them for.

My guess is that the total aid for Ukraine will eventually reach something close to that.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 21 October 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

On 14 October 2022, Belarussian president Aleksandr Lukashenko said that 70,000 Belarusian troops and up to 15,000 Russians would be involved in a new Russian-Belarussian Group of Forces. On 15 October 2022, the Belarussian authorities released a video claiming to show the arrival of Russian troops in Belarus. However, to date it is unlikely that Russia has actually deployed a significant number of extra troops into Belarus.

Russia is unlikely to be able to generate combat-ready formations of the claimed size: its forces are committed in Ukraine. The Belarussian military highly likely maintains minimal capability to undertake complex operations.

The announcement is likely an attempt to demonstrate Russian-Belarussian solidarity and to convince Ukraine to divert forces to guard the northern border.

"They gave us absolutely no equipment. The army has nothing, we had to buy all our gear ourselves," complained a 23-year-old draftee named Vladimir, according to The Guardian.

I mean when are posters like yourself going to realize this is all bs?

How is the Guardian getting an interview with a 23yr old new recruit named Vladimir. And thats certainly an interesting name they chose

Err, they could leave Ukraine and go home.
They were never threatened.

The Guardian got the phone call from the sister of the conscript that recorded it when her brother called from the front lines, allegedly. Vladimir is a very common name in Russia like Sergey and Dmitry nothing really unusual there.

The key to the allegations of lack of personal equipment provided to the conscripts it is has been very well documented. When the talking heads on Russian state TV are complaining about it and there are country-wide crowdfunding for these items you might want to examine your BS claims.

Good luck when they can't even feed or heat their own soldiers.

Terror regime? Obviously this war could end today if the aggressor would just give up their goal of stealing their neighbors land.

None here including you can prove the existence or validity of recording. Much of life is like that. However, the preponderance of the evidence coming from inside Russia from Russian sympathetic sources indicates the situation the article alleges is indeed fact.

This is not the poli-board. The frequent posters and readers here have learned how much veracity to give to individual sources. This is why Rybar, ISW, Defence Intelligence, Rob Lee, Warmapper3, Warmonitor and various other sources with their various biases are routinely posted. It requires a bit of balance between all of them to ferret out the most likely scenario on the ground. The ones that have proven themselves in retrospect will gain more weight and the ones that are consistently wrong or overly optimistic/pessimistic are posted less and less often and usually with a caveat when they are.

There is an incredible amount of information available on this conflict, and it can be difficult to read through the fog of war especially colored by disinformation presented on both sides. That being said this particular situation re (at least some) conscript's personal equipment is a pretty well-settled fact.

They believe anything that supports their belief that Ukraine is crushing Russia.

Crazy that dude has connections everywhere

They are passed off as reports and the source is identified. Each reader can decide for themselves based on the reports from multiple sources, past credibility of the sources, and a totality of the circumstances what is most likely closest to the truth. It isn’t as hard as you want to make it. That’s how consuming any news sources should be. They are all fallible and all have biases.

this is just lazy and small minded. If a source is reporting something negative regarding one side despite his bias in favor of that side, it adds to the credibility. You know this and employ this all of the time.

This is true. And this whole thing could have been avoided if NATO had honored their agreement of non-encroachment on former Eastern-bloc countries.

Doesn’t matter now.
