Video gave me chills. I do not know what they are saying, but from the expression of their tones, I have a strong idea. Maybe that missile hits another vacated intersection, or maybe they just saved some families' lives. Pretty cool.

Recent international developments as regards the ongoing conflict is that China is increasingly signaling they want the fighting to end. They've declined to support Russia's invasion and have begun asking pointed questions about the fighting.

China doesn’t support losers. I think they regard Russia as a paper tiger now and want to replace them as the center of power in northern Asia.

I see the Chinese prying all the former Soviet Asian nations away from Russia. They have already told Russia that they won’t allow Kazakhstan to be invaded.

Subsequently, Kazakhstan told Putin to go finger himself regarding joint military exercises with the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have all followed suit. The CSTO is dead.

The cost to Russia for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is incalculable.

i actually think this whole thing emboldens china and they start taking pieces up north. to me this sets up china long term like you stated.

but i dont think china can maintain it as i think they are heading off a economic cliff worse than us in later 23/early 24

Is there any aspect of engendering support for our actions in Ukraine that you would consider to be a psyop?

I say this to my friends all of the time. It’s honestly wild over there. Like an 8chan or Qanon breeding ground. Any of the big main stream media companies would have a field day painting southern college football fans as raving lunatic racists- and that’s where they would point for their evidence.

I guess that depends on the definition of Psyop.

I view a Psyop as an action by a government to influence another nation's opinion of a certain event. Propaganda is when a government does it to its own citizens.

I think both are present in the case of our support for Ukraine. Russia is obviously trying to weaken the US support for Ukraine (Psyop) while the Ukrainian Government is trying to our support via their own psyop and internal propaganda.

As to the US's own propaganda, since this administration supports Ukraine their messaging is aligning with their actions...you could call that propaganda.

ETA: Here is a good example of Ukrainian propaganda from today.

The Ukrainian government is using a recording of what appears to be an unscripted event to rally its citizens. This is absolutely propaganda put out by the Ukrainian government.

While Putin doubles down in Ukraine, his gas gambit is failing

As Russia launches missile strikes on Kyiv and other major cities across Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin’s plans to stoke fears of a European freeze this winter are on the point of backfiring. While Russia needs to sell the EU its natural gas, Europe no longer needs these supplies. The energy crunch should be no threat to unified support for Ukraine, let alone Europeans’ comfort this winter, despite Putin’s machinations.

That financial times article sounded a bit overly optimistic. I think the energy crunch is still an issue that they are going to be dealing with. Looks like Germany is working on a plan to pay for consumption in December.

Yeah, I and I suspect several other posters have been told by the mods not to post on this thread, but yeah this is the place that isn’t the bubble and telling you the truth.

I think it’s been shown opposing views that are supported, even if the majority of the posters disagree with it, are of no issue. It’s the trolls and unsupported Putin fellatio that’s the issue.

Another poster has even said they’re fine with your posting here. It’s a bit manic and worst case scenario possible, but at least we know where you’re coming from and there is a basis to it, albeit very exaggerated on your part to most peoples opinion.

It’s the “Zelensky is moscow yet?” And completely unsupported, in fact 95% of the time totally counter to open source intel, Russia propaganda pumping that is the issue.

Are there posters that go into the PT thread from this one and post “Putin in Kyiv yet?” and the like? Just drive by shitposting? I don’t go look so I truly don’t know.

That's the real question. Rails can be replaced fairly quickly but what's damaged inside the structure?

I wonder what the jet fuel can't melt steel beams people think when they see those rails, wheels, axles, and trucks.

That fire was hotter than I expected. I assume this was a serendipitous fire so all the damage is lagniappe.

Agreed. Unless Xi's rumored cerebral aneurysm does the country a solid, China is being systematically gutted by a megalomaniac.

Agree with this very much. I keep thinking back to right before the invasion and wonder if Xi saw this as a win win. Potentially got Putin to delay until after the Olympics making the timing worst possible for his success. Putin’s hubris obviously found this inconsequential.

If it went as expected Xi likes his chances for Taiwan and has a strong ally in support. If it failed, he knew he could replace Russia in these former satellites and greatly diversify its energy and other natural resource partners, likely in the same vein as they have with African nations.

The downside is this gamble is that it emboldened the west in unity on like issues making the inevitable future conflict much more difficult for the Chinese.
