If they take the dam they can turn off the water to Crimea (I believe it is still flowing).
The water intake for the North Crimean Canal is on the eastern bank of the river. The bridges have been destroyed by HIMARs so they are going to have to bridge and cross the river to shut off the water supply to Crimea.

Is the Russian plan for Kherson just to fight to the death? They don't have any escape routes, it seems, and I'm skeptical that they could pull off any evacuation. They seemed hemmed in so thoroughly that it has drain them of morale.

I hope they really are loving as fast as is being reported. If they are they have to press the attack at all cost and keep driving them back so they don’t have time to regroup, dig in and form defensive lines.

Hey Wee Wee, Does everything freeze up in Southern Ukraine (Kherson area) in the winter? I don't know if it's far enough south to avoid the deep freeze.

I can't believe people think he's smart.

The Dnieper shouldn’t freeze over down south in Kherson to where they can cross it like an ice road.

Yes. Putin has gone full Hitler and forbidden surrender or withdraw from Kherson city. He has also personally ordered his Chechen thugs to kill any Russian they see trying to flee from Kherson or surrender.

Another russian post about the Ukrainians reaching Dudchany, I haven't seen anything about a deeper penetration, are you hearing anything else?

Dudchany is confirmed to be attacked by the big Russian reporter. Berislav is still too far away (for now).

You hearing of Russian WG shooting RU regulars ostensibly for desertion? Sounds like it got ugly by Lyman trying to set an example.

The amount of quality content and information you’ve posted in this thread really is incredible.
I’ve heard it said that newspapers are yesterday’s news delivered to your home tomorrow.
The reporting in this thread is as quick as any reporting anywhere. There are several contributors here who are scanning for information to bring here sometimes around the clock. It’s quality work indeed.
And some Russian trolls.

I'm surprised the Russians are being so open about their setbacks

It is so much better than the Syrian Civil War in terms of information organization. It took everyone several years to understand what the Turks were doing, including the Turks themselves.

The Rasputitsa has arrived and life for infantry will get harder, last-mile resupply will become more difficult in the more rural fronts and artillery will find it harder to move around to employ ‘shoot and scoot’ tactics against Russian ground forces. This will make the use of artillery more dangerous for both sides.

I think that is a perfect example of what a different world we live in compared to just 30 years ago. The existence of this communications network we call the internet has taken away governments' ability to control the messaging.
That sounds kind of silly to say given how much messaging control we're all subjected to daily; however, without an open and free internet, it would be much worse than it is.

No doubt about that, but it also takes away from big media’s contro ofl the narrative. For instance look at the Vietnam War. History shows we were winning the war; yet big media had it otherwise. They s as iso provided a platform for the Jane Fondas.
While we won the Tet offensive decisively the media covered it as we were routed.
Now we had no exit strategy, but some of our issues were directly caused by our media undermining our efforts and encouraging our enemy.

From Pfarrer (not always reliable), it coincides with the other reporting I am seeing.

That is like crowing that you squat 175. There is a lady in my neighborhood I sometimes ride with doing my cool down laps after my training rides and she put in 2800 in the last year... and she is 78.
Russians around Kherson have been asking for air support on social media. Just when I thought Russia couldn't get more Mickey Mouse.

If those gains are real, we may be about to witness the collapse of the Russian army in Ukraine. Looks like Putin waited too long to mobilize.
