The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down an Iranian Shahed-136 combat UAV for the first time

The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed an Iranian strike unmanned aerial vehicle for the first time.

Photos of the previously unknown UAV were published by the Ukrainian officer on Twitter.

The remains of the device show Cyrillic inscriptions – ?214 Geran-2.

Analysis of the drone wing elements makes it clear that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Iranian UAV for the first time. This was namely a Shahed-136 long-range kamikaze UAV.

Elements of the Russian forces withdrawn from Kharkiv Oblast over the last week were from the 1st Guards Tank Army (1 GTA), which are subordinate to the Western Military District (WEMD). 1 GTA suffered heavy casualties in the initial phase of the invasion and had not been fully reconstituted prior to the Ukrainian counter-offensive in Kharkiv.

1GTA had been one of the most prestigious of Russia's armies, allocated for the defence of Moscow, and intended to lead counter-attacks in the case of a war with NATO.

With 1 GTA and other WEMD formations severely degraded, Russia's conventional force designed to counter NATO is severely weakened. It will likely take years for Russia to rebuild this capability.

Russia's 1st Guard Tank Army has the two best Armored Divisions (2nd Guards Motor Rifle/4th Guards Tank) in their whole army.

We haven't seen a single proof of ceasefire and negotiations on #Kherson front yet. However, there is a really strong hint that something unusual is happening. Since 6/7th September, there are no thermal anomalies around the frontline. This is weird.

This is interesting. It’s evidence that the Russians are in a ceasefire with the Ukrainians, or they are out of ammo.

BREAKING: It is reported that the occupiers are surrendering in Snigirevka, the road to Kherson is open.

Waiting on confirmation, but if true and the road is open then it’s just a matter of if the Ukrainians liberate Kherson but a matter of when the Ukrainians liberate Kherson.

Kherson will fold as fast as the northern area. It should be populated with pro U’s and not mostly collaborators.

In his defense he said he wasn't going to post about religion in this thread anymore. I don't think he said he was not going to post in the thread.

Interesting concept to deliver and pick up from the front lines without human operator in harm's way.

The Dad appears in the thread every week or so to tell the hijackers to buzz off and refocus the discussion to war news. It's out of character for him to get sucked into a hijack discussion. He's ok.

The Russians should’ve retreated out of Kherson to the other side of the river at least a week ago. Unless they plan on bleeding out the Ukrainian army in urban combat

Well they haven't done anything else smart in the war to date...not sure why we should expect them to be smart now.

Talk about utter humiliation. The world's supposedly 2nd strongest army invades its smaller neighbor and 6 months later is getting routed off the battlefield. No one would have thought that was going to happen myself included.

I hate Russia. Hate corrupt Ukraine too but hate Russia more. I enjoy the stress Putin is going through but it's ludicrous that we are not taking care of Americans first before sending money to ANY other country. It's bullshite that our leaders are telling our military personnel to file for food stamps due to inflation. Take care of your own people first before giving out billions

If you down vote taking care of Americans first it only shows you're not an American or you're against this country.

I've often wondered why the RF didn't fully mobilize their country towards the war in Ukraine. Why they didn't draft the numbers of men they would need to feed into a meat grinder.

Then I thought about all of the cell phone recordings of Russian infantrymen calling home and telling their families the truth about whats going on.

It seems the Putin regime thinks it is better to lose a war and maintain control over the narrative. As opposed to millions knowing what is truly going on over there.

It's OK to feel this way. While I may not fully agree with you. I respect that argument. I believe we can do both support Ukraine and address issues in our society...

This is a COMPLETELY unacceptable point of view. I LOVE my country and have a deep family history of military service including serving in the Navy myself.... Your comment is divisive and does not respect the very principle that sets us apart from nearly all other nations. The principle that as Americans we should have the RIGHT to disagree without being made to feel like we are enemies of the state.

look at what is going on in Russia... All anti-government sentiment is illegal and deemed traitorious. Do you really want to live in that kind of country?
