Pretty much this. Hell, we still have a myth that carrots help you see better in the dark because the Royal Air Force didn't want Germans knowing they had radar. I really don't give a shite if Ukraine is motivating their people via Twitter to fight against an invading force.

Unfortunately we live in an age where everyone assumes (sometimes for good reason) everyone else is stupid and has no ability to take a nuanced take like "yes I know it's propaganda, yes I'm still supporting Ukraine, no I don't want the US to go to war, yes I understand how propaganda can lead to situations that could make it hard for us to stay out"

Color me shocked that a Ukrainian president with an acclaimed career in tv show production might have encouraged propaganda through social media and videos.
If anything, I'm impressed Ukraine appears to be better at it than Russia. All we heard going into this war was how powerful Russian propaganda would be.

Agree, I just think people (in general) on this have been real quick to emotionally jump to one conclusion or another about the success/failure of the war in one direction or another. That’s all.

Probably. But the fact that they are drastically losing the media war should tell you more about how this is going for the Russians. Not to mention the bigger implications of becoming a pariah state in Europe and getting banned from everything (soccer, air space, banking, etc).
How does this benefit Putin even if he somehow occupies all of Ukraine with the ensuing guerilla war?

No, which is why I simply said I’m becoming more skeptical and did not state I believe it happened or didn’t happen. Also why I didn’t just share that tweet to start with, but since I was asked.

Surprising that the Zelensky photos are one and the “Snake Island” stories are old and fake, respectively.
We have no idea what is going on there and Twitter is the absolute worst source in this situation.

Sky news interviewed the former president of Ukraine Poroshenko on the streets of Kiev wearing full armor while he made no qualms about him fighting directly.
Then he went on to pull out his Glock and tell everyone how good Austrian fire arms are
. Hard to beat that kind of publicity.

I’m not really surprised though. Who would be distributing Russian propaganda outside of Russia?
The only thing coming out is pro-Ukrainian.
Now, I think that means they are doing better than we expected, but that actually makes me think less favorably of the situation.
If they have to pump out that much sunshine, how bad is it actually getting there?
A lot if it is probably to try and convince their citizens to not flee and, instead, fight.
