Exactly. The only thing holding up America at this point is the petrodollar. If we lose that, we basically end up like 90's Russia.
i wish more people knew this than what the kardashians did for dinner last night. it's really a house of cards

Oh I understand them, and the fact that some of you buy the stated explanations of glorified gangsters is absolutely mind blowing.

It’s obvious that Germany doesn’t want to go that far. It’s a move that hurts the trading partners of Russia also, including Germany. It’s not a simple question.
Germany will be, quite literally, in the dark along with much of Europe if they block SWIFT access. It's essentially a suicide pact.

[CNN] There have been "more than 250" missile launches by Russians at Ukraine as of this morning, US official says
quote:
There have been “more than 250” missile launches from Russian forces at Ukraine “as of this morning” eastern time, a senior US defense official told reporters Saturday.
The majority of the missile launches “continue to be short-range ballistic missile types,” the official said.
Russians continue to impact “civilian infrastructure and residential areas” with these missile strikes, the official said.
“We’re not able to tell you whether those locations were intentionally targeted, but there’s no doubt in our mind that civilian infrastructure and residential areas are being hit by these barrages,” the official said.
As of this morning, the US has “no indication” that the Russian military has “taken control over any cities,” the official added.
There have been “intermittent” power outages in Ukraine, but the internet is still “generally available,” the official added.

Of course it’s not simple, none of this is simple.
But, at some point, they may have to pick a side. Maybe Germany will finally pick a side where they actually come out looking decent in the end for once.

If it even starts to look like Putin is ready to go nuclear, China will actually be the first country to bodybag him in the Ural Mountains.
They haven't waited this long to emerge on the world stage to watch a senile nutjob end civilization.

Bro, the guy produced a fake "public radio" podcast where he interviewed himself while disguising his voice and pretending to be different people. That was 5 years ago. If the guy ever had his shite together I must have missed it.
Was one of the best moments on this site. He's a very weird person who seems like he's always on the precipice of a psychotic episode.

I don't agree with his invasion, but there are large numbers of Russians in Eastern Ukraine. And if you view the Poroshenko and Zelensky regimes as hostile to those ethnic Russians in that area, there's going to be a reaction.
Why invade all the way to Kyiv, then?
Russia kind of sort of got a pass in 2014 b/c it focused on these "pro-Russian" areas (like Crimea). It's gone WAY passed that line in this move.

Germany is a by-product of liberal policies.
1.) By the end of 2022, they are shutting down three of their six Nuclear Power Plants. In favor, of gas and oil from Russia
2.) They have to approve any arms that are sold to other countries and even re-sold.
3.) They don't pull their weight in defense (IMO) and their economy is way to tied to adversaries.
