Well stormcast forums isn't choking on their own jizz right now so I'm going to say there's no truth to this.

There was a model run about 2 days ago that showed some ice during Mardi Gras week but it was more the northshore area. I haven't seen anything in the last couple days runs though.

Mardi Gras is cold because it's so often in February. Ash Wednesday was two+ weeks earlier last year.

Icy conditions for a March Mardi Gras have got to be pretty rare.

Pretty irresponsible to talk about something 12 days out when they can barely forecast something 5 days out. Not saying it’s impossible but no reason to talk about something so far out.

I’ve actually seen the FB meteorologists hinting at another Arctic blast for Mardi Gras, some were even talking about snow for some parts of the south.

That's not odd at all considering Christmas happens only 3-4 days into Winter, whereas Mardi Gras generally happens right in the middle of Winter.

Winter is from December 21-22 until March 21-22 the following year. Mardi Gras can be as early as February 3 - the exact middle of Winter, or as late as March 9 - still two weeks away from Spring.

This got a chuckle. We must visit some of the same weather forums.
