This especially if you think Lafayette looks anything like Buckhead. How did you enter Lafayette? You must not have gone up 90 or maybe you had your eyes closed.

Ok, thank you for the nice review of our city; however, I don't think you actually came here at all.

You sure as hell didn't go out in Lafayette. Although, most of the oil field trash are not out and about right now which is nice.

Now I know you didn't come to Lafayette. I think I'm the only one who owns a pair of khakis in the area. I finally broke down to wearing jeans when I got out to dinner. People stare at you when you wear khakis in this town.

Apparently Lafayette got a little nicer once Yellowfin moved back and Supah moved away.

***Or would that have the opposite effect?

I think you must have been in New Iberia. Did most of the dudes in khakis and polos also have sweet arse hair cuts?

You apparently were not in Lafayette Louisiana.

Marcellos had one of the poorest wine selections. Rousses was better.

I was being less descriptive. Many wore blazers and slacks.
And no, no caesars.

N.O. CBD has young professionals, but also has New Orleans Yats and their "ward" counterparts.

I didn't see the outskirts of Lafayette, so they might exist

But even so, Baton Rouge, terrible inskirts and terrible outskirts.

Where would you take me in BTR for 4 days to avoid everything trash?

Lafayette gets a bad rap on here, if you aren't going to Red's or douchebag bars then you will probably not see the kinda folk that are being mentioned in here. They don't live in Lafayette anyway.

We may define traffic differently, does it take you 45 mins to go 10 miles in Lafayette? How long is your commute to work in each direction?

It's pretty much all oil and gas. How do you know zero about Lafayette but you have them as your favorite team? Seems like a bad troll job.

Don't listen to these BR clowns, they're mad they live in a dump.
Lafayette has much more to offer than oil and gas. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Yeah...never quite got this. I grew up in St. Charles Parish and still consider myself a NOLA native, but when I moved to Lafayette back in '88 for school I liked it so much I stayed.

It's certainly not perfect, though I'm guessing few places are. I have always liked the fact that it has most of what you'd want in a mid sized city and yet right outside you can be completely away from all of it. We built in Youngsville 10+ years ago and it's beautiful...and we're ten minutes away from what has now become the hub of retail in Lafayette.

Now...Kujo is high as frick if he doesn't think Lafayette is completely eaten up with traffic issues. It is, which is largely a problem caused by poor planning and rapid growth. Right now, on any given morning, it could take you 45 minutes+ to go from Youngsville to Johnston St...which is about 8 miles?

But yeah...never quite got the Lafayette hate. For that matter, never gotten the BR or NOLA hate either. All have good and bad points...

For Louisiana standards, Lafayette is a decent town-arguably the most decent In the state.

Vermillionville to Deanos on Bertrand. 4.1 miles. 55 minutes on Friday.

Cajundome to mall on Thursday 45 minutes. 4.8 miles.

I commute 28 miles and it takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. No traffic it is 35 minutes.
