This is why I have self-defense insurance. USCCA, US Law Shield, CCW Safe, Right to Bear are a few organizations you can pay monthly to ensure your right to self-defense is protected. Yes, I know we shouldn't have to do this but in reality, you're going to get screwed.

If you have guns, you will need this. Prosecutors will do anything for convictions, including convicting you. They need this to play to the morons who think "hey he's keeping us safe" for votes. Not only that you will need it for civil cases in case a perp's baby mama thinks you're a payday when the creep never paid child support.

Remember: Your government hates you.

I hate this shite. In any home invasion, there's legitimate fear for your life, because these thugs will absolutely kill you if they get the chance so they get away with the crime. In some cases they will kill you just because they can.

Why are the law abiding required to give these frickers a chance to kill them? frick that.

You can't shoot trespassers in your yard, hence the charges. If they were attempting to gain entry into his home - he has grounds.

If the victims weren’t the STM and Teurlings QBs it would’ve never gone to court. There’s a reason he only served 10 months on a manslaughter charge

"Fontenot was 18 on Feb. 10, 2013, when he says he woke up early in the morning to what sounded like someone popping the handles on his truck parked outside his parents' Lafayette home. He grabbed a pistol his father bought two months earlier and ran outside to see a truck driving away. After telling the driver to stop, he fired three shots, allegedly aiming for the tailgate.

The shooting took place a few houses from the Rivault home, where Austin had sneaked out earlier to attend a party. Cole Kelley and William Bellamy testified they were driving him home when Fontenot started firing at them."

So, he heard someone popping the handles on his truck, didn't physically see it, heard it, went outside and saw a truck driving away...mind you, he didn't physically see anyone in his yard or even by his vehicle and started shooting at a truck driving away.

He was arrested and charged.

D.A. hasn't done anything with the case yet.

So, you're saying the shooting was justified?

It’s sad how it’s inconceivable to you that he woke up when he heard his truck being broken into. You libs crime senses are so dulled by living in your hugbox that you don’t believe that some people would wake up to protect their stuff. That’s why us gun toters are the sheepdogs protecting the weak lib sheep from the wolves. Meanwhile y’all send us to jail and put on slam poetry shows for the wolves

I don't agree with it, but I thought it is common knowledge that you could not shoot for trespassing or theft until violence was shown or until they enter your home/vehicle

The first night my brother was living in Houston, his apartment was broken into. He was asleep and he heard something, looked over and saw someone laying on his floor. He grabbed his gun and started firing and the guy took off running. Made it out of his apartment and my brother was still shooting at him when he was running across the parking lot.

My brother must be a bad shot because he never hit the guy and the police told them that if he hit the guy in the parking lot, that my brother would be going to jail.

Now you have to know the intent of the people who climb your fence and enter your property to steal before you can defend it?

“Oh, you’re just here to steal all my shite, but you don’t mean me any physical harm? By all means, then, go ahead.”

Bottom line is despite being a "decent" gun owner-friendly state, we are arguably far more criminal-friendly.

They have more rights than you do when it comes to robbing you blind. And that is wrong. Anyone who says differently has likely never been victimized by this low-life vermin. Only an idiot thinks the penalties they face is going to persuade them to stop. It will only clog the court system and then release them to do it again. And again....

If you attempt to stop them yourself unarmed, there's a great chance you'll be shot by one of them. Them going to prison after you're in the ground seems like a really shitty consolation prize, to me.

The current system of laws here ensures that this problem will only get worse.

Tell that to the ones defending Seth Fontenot.

There was someone riding their bike last night in front of my house at 11 pm. I could have yelled at him to stop and when he pedaled faster, shot him in the back of the head because I thought I heard someone by my vehicle.

Totally justified.

If you were a real man you would have. Being on a bicycle is an admission of guilt because only criminals ride them
