This happens everywhere. Only in ny, Ca and other liberals places, you’re expected to take it.

I don’t know. The poor kid was in the car for several hours after the shot, but they caught them really fast.

Keith Stutes is retiring at the end of this term. Hoping that Danny Landry is going to attempt to try them as adults when he takes office.

One of them knew the victim (I’m guessing the 14 year old as i think he may have went to the same school) there were texts or phone calls before the incident that lead them to them. It was a set up basically , but not sure if the car jacking was the whole set up? Doesn’t make sense since they didn’t take the car

Probably panicked after they shot him.

I am a teacher. I have students as young as 11, who own a gun and I am not talking legally.

I am much more afraid of a 13 or 14 yo then a 25 or 30 yo. A 14 yo will shoot you in the head for an iphone without thinking twice.

As already pointed out, that is when they found him.

Why do people always assume this? So many people assume being late out means bad activity. This kid looks like the furthest thing from drug dealing as it gets.

When I was his age I had a car very similar to him and I would always be out 2-3 am in the morning.. never once up to anything bad.. always hanging out with my church youth group friends.. Especially given this was over the weekend.

Why does this:

14 yo and a 13 yo tried to carjack him.

seem to be happening more frequently nowadays, all over the place?

DAs not prosecuting petty theft correctly or at all combined with no follow and no chase laws combined with going easy on first offenders combined with a push to get those arrested out as fast as possible.

It’s absolute insanity and it stems as a direct result of politicians choosing to run a platform around being soft on crime and society in general babying young adults with everything from participation trophies to empowerment movements while publicly shaming good parents and promoting horrific ones.

We used to say it takes a village to raise a child and discipline starts at home. We have surrendered our children to an education system that is nothing more than an indoctrination camp and we as a society at large have quit parenting our children and instead cater them.

Great news, he's been awful.

Because in places like Lafayette, if there is a shooting it’s almost always related to drugs/criminal activity, even more so if it occurs at 2:30 am, in a parking lot of some sketch arse looking townhouses.

ETA: I wasn’t assuming he was dealing, I was assuming he was buying. I looked pretty far from a drug dealer in high school too, but I still smoked (3/5 of the valedictorians in my high school class did too)

How does your class have 5 valedictorians? Never heard of such a thing.

Yes it is. And the police have to try to deal with it with their hands tied.

Isn't the Justice Reform Initiative just wonderful ? If the public only knew a tenth of what was in that terrible bill passed w/ the help of REPUBLICANS.

Yup. That piece of shite Danny Martiny was the ring leader with Walt Leger and JP Morrell. And if it was up to them, the bills passed and signed would have been even more friendly towards violent criminals.

No surprise The Advocate paraded him on the front page and spit in the face of the victim and her family.
