According to the LDH, across the state there have been 2,175 vaccine breakthrough cases. That is .1% of the fully vaccinated population, of that 125 hospitalized where 28 died. Stephen Mumford at Baton Rouge General says, for the rest of the breakthrough cases, they experience minor symptoms.

It reads as though 2,175 vaccinated people have tested positive for Covid in Louisiana. A breakthrough case just means a positive test. So if 2,175 was 0.1% I would multiply 2,175 by a thousand to get the total number vaccinated, a tenth of a point, a point of a hundred percent. That would give me 2,175,000 vaccinated. The LDH says 1,684,060 are fully vaccinated as of yesterday and 1,859,391 have received at least one dose. 36.2% of Louisiana fully dosed. 40% at least 1 dose.

So 2,175 of 1,684,060 is 0.12915217% of fully vaccinated people in Louisiana have tested positive for Covid. 125 of 1,684,060 is 0.007422538389369% of fully vaccinated people in Louisiana are in the hospital for Covid. 28 of 1,684,060 is 0.001662648599219% of fully vaccinated people in Louisiana that have died with Covid.

Care to lay out the demographics of those states for us?

I am only correlating the rates of vaccination against the latest bump in cases.

I'm making no claims about who gets vaccinated and who doesn't.

As if 7/20

Vermont
7-day:13
Today: 11

Massachusetts
7day: 292
Today: 452

Maine
7day: 49
Today: 153

Connecticut
7day: 151
Today: 218

Rhode Island
7day: 47
Today: 65

Louisiana
7day: 1513
Today: 1562

Our 7 day average according to Google has been around 400 between 3rd spike and now. Our spikes appear to be higher, but much more narrow than the other states.

Today, Louisiana is reporting 5,388 new cases of COVID-19. That total is the third highest daily count since the start of the pandemic. Numbers like this are avoidable, and we should be doing better. Find vaccine info at vaccines.gov. #lagov

How is it avoidable if vaccinated people are still testing positive?

Getting the vaccine does not stop you from getting the virus, or spreading it apparently.

And I'm still more likely to be shot by a black male than die from Covid.

First, link?

Second, .24% of people since inception of this virus has died from it.

Curious, of the "unvaxxed" that have covid, how many of them had covid before?

Strange how that factoid is never part of the equation.
