re: LA gov't has been terrible; they've known we had to go nuclear for a week+

I'm going to ignore this order twice as much as I ignored his first order.

Exactly. JBE, who I've never voted for, is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

This truly has nothing to do with the Governor

Ah I see, it’s an anti New Orleans rant. Got it. Continue trolling. I’ll move on

What’s your play here?
if our government knew it had to go full authoritarian, it should have done it in a better way
now we get the authoritarianism without the benefits

huh? Nola is only important b/c that's ground zero of this. LA is inching up the leaderboard b/c of that area
if we were going to stop the spread, why wouldn't Nola be the focus?

Could you do a better job Jake???

LA has gone nearly full authoritarian based on JBE/s declaration and his policy choices. how does that have nothing to do with him?

The whole state is irrelevant without New Orleans metro area.
BS I was at LSU for 3 years in grad school and went maybe a handful of times to NOLA. I could've easily done without NOLA.
To me LA is Baton Rouge with a little bit of Lafayette and Alexandria thrown in. NOLA is to LA what Miami is to FL. F those cities.
It holds true for corona too. Look at FL and 90% of the cases are in Miami.
Just wanted to add that DeSantis > JBE. At least DeSantis is trying to keep the economy idling a bit by holding off on a full lockdown and leaving restrictions up to municipalities. JBE and Latoya are drunk with power now.

If he had done this before taking the other actions, you know DAMN frickING WELL you and everyone else would bitch that he didn’t try other things first. He insinuated in every way that if nobody listened, this was coming. He made I’d obvious he didn’t want to do this. Nobody stayed home, though.
Quit bitching over an order that’s basically the same as we’ve already had.
If you’re not following it, then you’re to blame. Not JBE.
We complain about the politicians in office, but its the general public who makes many of them the way they are.
They have to sell themselves to the general public and once they are elected, they have to try to keep everyone happy.. Which means what you say to this person, you can't necessarily say to that person. No matter what they do, they will piss off a group of people.
And although they might have information that suggest they should do one thing, popular opinion plays a big factor in what they actually do .
And of course everyone thinks they know what "should" be done.

It probably has nothing to do that they sent the most tests to the largest metro area in the state and not fricking Bunkie?

And second guessing in a fluid situation like this makes you look like a bitch
i'm not second guessing. i said a week ago if they were going to go this route it should be all the way
if i had the data they clearly had at the time, it would have been sooner
this choice has left a week of spread throughout the state and we still end up shutting down the state

Not just mine. Tens of thousands of others. I'm flexible enough to adapt. Tens of thousands of citizens will go bankrupt b/c of these policy choices.

Good question.
Jake, seriously, if you were governor how would you have handled this different? Did JBE have enough information at the time to cancel Mardi Gras?
