SFP, did you watch 60 minutes tonight.

There was a segment about the economy and the coronavirus impact. Here is a link to 60 minutes twitter page that has a video of this segment.

This is why it is important that everyone take this serious and comply to the whole "shelter in place". The quicker everyone does this and get the spreading of it under control the quicker we get back on track. Short term, the economy will be fine. Its only if this goes on for closer to a year that it will really hurt the economy.

Whatever happened already can't be redone. No one can go back and change things to prevent it from spreading as much as it has in Louisiana. The only thing we can do is move forward, do our part to not be around a lot of people who could be carriers, so that you don't get sick then pass it on to others..

we are a frog in boiling water and they've lied to us and allowed exponential spread

Pretty much. Or we are not, but could be and this was the approach chosen to lessen exposure while keeping people from going batshit.

Guess what? the odds are he is doing considerably better than a biness man who has zero experience with statewide issues.

You can’t possibly know that. I think he sucks. You apparently want to dick ride. It’s subjective either way.

But rest assured he is destroying what little the state has going for it economically. He’ll claim it’s justified. Time will tell. Whoever stays here will get to see how great it is in a year or so.

The House and Senate this week proposed trillion-dollar bailouts, but economists some wonder where the money will come from to finance it. The U.S. government now owes over $23.5 trillion in debt, up $3 trillion since President Trump took office in 2017 and almost double what it was just 10 years ago.

Kashkari said he is confident the U.S. government has the resources for the stimulus and pointed to the continued low rates at which the government borrows. But the uncertainty of how long the coronavirus will continue concerns him.

People keep talking about Mardi Gras a month ago. If you picked it up then, you already had it then probably recovered from it.
