TV network are probably devastated. His trial would’ve made for huge ratings.

We aren't psychos that want to kill people, so we could never understand a mind like that.... but 99.99999% of people don't want to die, even when facing life in prison. It's what baffles people about the impulsive action to commit suicide

I get it.

You don't get to die quickly. 15 yrs later, when you're totally acclimated to prison life, the reaper comes and drags you to electric chair.

Can they just toss him off a tall building instead of stuffing him into some prison forever?

Oh wow, that Megan Kelly quote is shocking. I can’t believe they didn’t he the blessing from all of the families. What was the hurry? Why not consult with them all 1st? He was always going to take this if he is now. I was assuming they just offered it, and the reason was because that’s what the parents wanted. Weird.

Of course, they can still sue him and his family—and maybe the university of Washington and the place he got his undergrad or master’s for not noticing. They may not win, but stuff could come out that they wanted to. Are they pissed he’s not getting the death penalty or that he’s avoiding having everything come out? He still had to allocate and explain what happened as part of his plea, no?

Waaaaaaay to easy for him.

Scaphism
Reported by Plutarch in his Life of Artaxerxes as an ancient Persian method of execution. He describes the victim being trapped between two small boats, one inverted on top of the other, with limbs and head sticking out, feeding them and smearing them with milk and honey, and allowing them to fester and be devoured by insects and other vermin over time.

2 of the girls families have now said they are against the plea deal and were taken by surprise.

Reading this now and it makes my previous posts not make any sense. But neither does why the prosecution decided to do this and do this now? Weird.

Weird post. Put this dude on a list as he is a psycho.

Sure…a list of someone who wants the worst stuff imaginable to happen to a piece of shite who murdered four innocent people and caused unimaginable pain to their families.

It’s a win for everyone. Resolution for the family and less money for the taxpayer.

Waives right to appeal and the case is closed.

Death penalty is way more expensive that life without.

If it were me and I looked like this dude, I’d request the express line death penalty over life in prison

The will to live is a hell of a drug. It’s why suicide is so shocking and rare.

I thought so too, until it was pointed out to me that some of the families feel betrayed. I can’t imagine the prosecution not asking all the families what they wanted. Not just today, but having worked with them so intimately that they weren’t basically in constant communication with them and always knew how they felt regarding this.

The state does not have have to honor the wishes of the family. That gets you into irrational mob justice territory and we do not want that to happen.

The state ideally is in the search for truth and justice.

Life in prison without parole is a delayed death sentence. Prison life sucks so he will get his punishment and arguably life in prison is worth as dude could spend the next 50 plus years locked up.

Take the emotion out of the situation and this is the best resolution to the case for all parties.

ETA: Trials are risky and messy. A guilty plea is finality and guaranteed resolution.

Also, sucks for tax payers and the families, but probably very good for profilers and such, that will now get to interview him for decades about it all

Death penalty actually costs more than life, sadly.
