The fact that you saw kids OUTSIDE playing football like normal kids is astounding!

Who the hell calls penalties in backyard football?!?!?!?!

We used to slam each other into fences and our touchdowns were the concrete driveways. Hell grabbing the inside of someones neck line of their shirt was the best way to tackle, and it led to usually playing shirtless so that wouldn't happen to you...

You weren't allowed to wear shoes because that gave you an advantage over kids who didn't have them on. I can't think of a time we EVER called a single penalty other than if someone passed the ball forward after running across the line of scrimmage, for some reason we had a few friends who always did that

Pass interference in backyard football?!?!?! That's a joke, NFL Blitz rules, you can't avoid the defender than you're too slow to be a receiver

Three of my neighbors ended up playing college football. I was severely outmatched to say the least.

Unreal sad and pitiful.

In my hood, we played tackle in the street. You know, the street made of concrete.

Penalties? Wtf

Out of bounds was a fence and the drive way...and in the "football field/ side yard" were two pecan trees at each end that were treated as endzone markers (no cameras mounted) in addition to being the endzone the trees were also defenders so if you beat someone deep..you better either do it to the treeless side of the field or do it so substantially that you couldnt be shoved from behind into the tree. I remember one "deep" pass that took me right into one of those trees. Everytime i hear "pecan is soft wood.." I think.."yeah..until you run /shoved into it"

We always used to call interference penalties....always.....interference on every play. Never enforced it unless we were trying to really hurt someone....I'm looking at you, Phil!!!!!!

Nothing worse than that one jackass who would always call fouls on everything when playing a random basketball game

Ball goes in fairly dry ditch. You grab it where its dry. Your friend yells if it got wet. You yell back "NO!" And chunk one deep to him. Then everyone laughs when they get muddy wet hands and shirt

We would always play on Thanksgiving and Christmas. All of us in the family (minus Mom), and whoever was visiting. Sometimes things got heated. A few punches were thrown, and the occasional wrestling match.

One time, when things were really getting hot, my Mom stepped out of the house and told us to break it up. I hollered to her to get back in the house.

So she sent my Dad out...

In order to confirm the legitimacy of said neighborhood football game, we must find out how many “missississippi’s” before rushing the QB. Anything more than 5 makes the game illegitimate

Did one of them get suspended from half of the next game due to targeting?

If so, did his dad have yard signs made that said "Free Haydyn"?
