this reminds me of Jakarta, when kids come to the car trying to sell stuff. difference being jakarta is a poor poor country
Is the country of Jakarta new? Are they part of the UN?

While I agree wholeheartedly with the second sentence, kids fundraising by selling cady has nothing to do with it. Most of these are programs for their schools and the kids are trying to get rewarded with prizes such as a limousine ride to McDonald’s, a magic show or a slamdunk show.
bullshite I bet most of these kids are selling "skittles" like Alton sterling sold "cd's"

Because if I wanted candy I'd pick some up in the checkout line for less than the kid is selling for. But I don't even want candy.
Well that’s fine but that still isn’t a kid asking for a handout. Just a kid that doesn’t realize he should take that candy to a better location to sell since Wal Mart has savvy customers.
You give the kid money, he gives you a bag of candy. How is that a handout?

Does your kid sell candy on the street or something?

How is you buying candy at a markup from a kid a free handout?

You would pick it up in the checkout line at the store that receives billions of dollars in subsidies.

I was cornered in a KFC (trashy I know) a couple of weeks ago by some kids selling candy barss for their basketball team. I usually just tell them “no thank you” but the candy was the “World’s Finest” crap I remember selling as a kid so I said “Sure. How much?” The kid said “Four dollars because they’re the big ones.” I forked over the four bucks and left. Got back to the office, looked at the candy bar and printed on the wrapper as clear as day was “$2.00”. Little bastards still managed to scam me!

These are my favorite. Then you look in the parking lot next to where they are begging and it’s loaded with new Tahoe’s and lifted silverados with Braylen and Jadens names in baseballs on the rear glass.

What pisses me off is when they come around to tailgates trying to get everyone to buy candy while momma watches from the distance. You know that money is going straight to momma's drug/gambling addiction. It's sad and disgusting.

You can't turn around without someone asking you to buy something for this or give money to that. Hell, they even ask you at the cash register.. "do you want to donate $1 for _______________". I always say no. People say "it's just a $1". Yeah, it's "just" a dollar here and "just" a dollar there.
It annoys the shite out of me when people are in front of walmart asking for donations or trying to sell some bullshite. I understand everyone needs money for this and that, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

The handout is the difference in price between what I could buy it from the store and the beggars price. Never mind that 90% of the people don't even want the candy in the first place.
We are just going to have to agree that your kids are no better than a bum on the corner.

When the girl scouts ask me if I would like to buy cookies I say "yes" and keep walking. I enjoy the confusion it creates.

The worst are the kids that stand on the corners of busy intersections dodging between cars asking for money.
I see them almost every weekend at College and Perkins. They never even have uniforms on or anything that discerns what organization they are collecting for.
The city really needs to force these organizations to get a permit to do this kind of thing, or disallow it all together. It is incredibly dangerous to have 8 year olds running between cars like that for a few bucks. And I'm sure half the time, the 'organization' is BS.
Of course, we'd have to have cops that enforce those types of laws, which I don't think is possible considering how many mfers 'block the box' during every light cycle.

I pulled into the drive thru at CC's on Airline the other morning and a dude walked up to me and gave me the out of gas story while I was waiting to order my coffee. I told them about it when I got to the window and when they went out to check, the dude had already split.
