All of the jurors need to be hanged. Or, we let some Mexican kill someone close to each juror "accidentally" and see what they want to have done with an illegal then.

Wow, this is horrible. I hate it for the family. I know a guilty verdict wouldn't have changed what happened, obviously, but maybe could have helped provide a tiny bit of closure.
Why does California seem to have a problem convicting people who are obviously guilty. This POS even admitted to it. Part of me feels it's an "F U" from the jury, sort of like the O.J. case. Which is horrible and makes a mockery of our justice system.

Does California have responsive verdicts? Also the bullet apparently richoucheted off the ground first. Not sure how this wasn’t negligent homicide.

The thing that I don't understand is that they said he wasn't guilty of negligent homicide because he didn't know what he was doing was dangerous. But then they said he was guilty of felon in possession of a firearm even though it was supposedly wrapped up and he didn't know what it was.
It sounds like the jury basically asked themselves what the most minimum charge they could give him so they didn't completely lose face in the public eye.

However, while I'm not exactly sure of what would have to be the case for a murder charge, I feel like he should have got some kind of murder charge. Simply because he fired the gun towards people. The fatal shot may have ricocheted off the ground, but why was he firing a gun in the direction of people anyways? Even if he was "shooting at a seal",you don't fire a gun towards a crowd of people.
I get it that even if he was trying to shoot a seal and it ricocheted off the ground and hit Kate and killed her, that it was probably "technically" negligent homicide. What I don't get is how someone can't be charged with murder if they're shooting guns into a crowd. That's more than just negligence, IMO.

They take gun crimes seriously in CA unless you're one of their heroic illegal immigrants. Then you can kill someone and get away with it.

Well, he was found not guilty because the prosecutors tried to charge him with the wrong charges....shame on them for doing a shitty job.

This is why everyone needs to report to jury duty, act as “progressive” as possible, and render some sweet guilty verdicts on these dirt bags.
