I’m not going to take up for Karl Malone for sleeping with a 13 year old, but I do believe he’s a different man today. He has a positive relationship with all his children today including this one. I think this particular son runs a logging company Malone owns. People either love or hate him around here. A lot of poor black people dislike him around here because he doesn’t give hand outs to them. He has a hard work ethic and expects others to work hard if they want his help.

Let's be honest: the people screaming don't care about that at all. They just want it torn down because he's a Republican and defender of the Second Amendment.

What the frick?

He impregnated a child, bro. How fricking twisted up over politics are you that you can find a way to make this about something other than the obvious?

I’m not sure how old KM is but my maternal uncle is 70, my aunt is 58. Their oldest is 44. My mom was raised around Summerfield also. I believe in rural areas, from what I’ve been told, that age gap was pretty common. Aunt and uncle have 5 kids and are still married. Seems gross now, may not have in some areas back then. I’m 50, my aunt was more like an older sister

Leftists don't care about that at all. They only care that he is conservative. This has literally nothing to do with something that happened 40 years ago and has already gone through the court system in a civil trial. The man paid for child support for his son and according to the son (Demetress Bell) they have a great relationship. This idea that people are supposed to be perfect is just nonsense.

This is something else people have to realize. This happened around 1982-83. That’s kind of late for something like that, but smaller towns around the south had this sort of stuff happening well into the 60’s pretty regularly. In a small town back then the bigger issue would have been getting pregnant out of wedlock than the age issue.

Give a frick if you think he’s a good person.

He’s very clearly a predator who used his status to avoid jail.

Malone refused to pay child support until the RAPED 13 year old brought him to court. Then, Malone didn’t pay child support even when forced by law until he was once again brought in by the court and almost arrested

Then, when the boy was older and contacted Malone, Malone told him “sorry, it’s too late to have a relationship”. It wasn’t until the boy made the nfl and became famous that Malone had a relationship with him

You are so fricking ruined by politics you are supporting an absolute trash ball of human waste because he votes like you

No one is a good person.

Her parents didn't think so. They didn't press charges. They certainly could have. You do not know better than them what should have happened.

Well no, actually. I'm just not going to pretend he did something terrible enough to ruin his life forever if the girl's own parents didn't think what he did was terrible. They absolutely could have filed charges for statutory rape and didn't. You do not know better than them.

They have been interviewed. They chose not to pursue charges because they didn’t want Malone arrested and not be able to provide for the child. They did and still think he is an abhorrent piece of shite

Sorry the truth hurts. This isn't at all about the girl or her family because it is abundantly clear they did not want to press charges against him.

Exactly who are we trying to get justice for here? Certainly not them/her. Certainly not the child. What person actually involved in this situation is calling for Karl Malone's statue to be torn down?

I think people that rape juveniles or forcible rape in general should be killed

Guess I’m different too
