They should hire her at WAFB. They need a little more depth in their hotness bench.

A relative of mine changed his major from a STEM field to journalism, with the aim of being a sportswriter. Doesnt make economic sense but he hated what he was majoring in. Maybe something will work out. If not he'll be a barista who writes well.

they were playing informercials so I figured they may have had a technical issue, did know they'd cut the program entirely.
Morning shows used to be big revenue generators for local stations. They still are in many markets, but if they don’t work, then the entire station suffers because the lack of revenue trickles throughout the station.
Airing infomercials instead of locally produced content isn’t a good sign.

Apparently it was part of layoffs from Allen Media,
That’s a separate factor. I know they partnered with Bally’s and Sinclair in, so the entire company might be suffering from the regional sports network disaster.

There must be severe revenue pressure on local news productions.
WBRZ in Baton Rouge has been hiring Doogie Howsers for about a year now to deliver news, weather and sports.
Some of them, especially on the weekends, may even be interns. One of the younger ones doing the weather has braces on his teeth.
And they have Lizzo anchoring the weekend news.

@bosie - nope, Meteorologist husband who previously worked at WBRZ. Grace (KLAF / KADN) was originally from the West Coast (CA) and moved to the PacNW pre-covid.
KADN was also my go-to watch for morning news. Alex was the definitely the glue that got viewers and held them together. Scott has been around a long time (including KATC), is local, and people believe and trust him. He's got a sense of humor, college educator, and great orator. Scott gave my daughter's commencement address in HS which was solid and I still remember. May have just been his last gig in local TV news since he's 65. Al Hebert was a combination of goofy, stupid, and lost at times. He was good for delivering information on local festivals and food. Adam is young and has been in the business for < 10 years. I had no problem with his delivery, and he will have no problem furthering his career.
Regarding KATC - unbearable to watch. Reminds me of a bunch of 8th graders who were hired to share TicToc/SnapChat video updates on local boring shite in each Parish. May be the worst news casts I've ever seen.
IMO, with the recent KADN news, Byron Allen Media just told KATC to hold my beer.

Instead of the motto all the news that is fit to print...
It is all the news that is fit to eat..
WWL has a hefty gal doing the news too. And I was like this, "Is this the woman who ate the news?"

The ownership and upper management in media broadcasting, specifically radio, have to be the most ruthless, cut-throat, people on the planet. The entire broadcasting team could be here today - and you're' gone tomorrow.
The exception would be the really smaller. local markets, as in Hammond. The owners are outstanding and a really good family and good people. I think you lose that when you get outside of the small towns.
It seems as though the larger stations don't give a frick about their staff.

KPLC is owned by Gray media I think. They’ve had the same core anchors like John Bridges on the morning show, Cynthia Arceaneux for the nightly news, and Wade Hampton as the meteorologist, for as long as I can remember, atleast 15 years. It’s always good to have a solid news station like them, compared to the KATC debacle.

Yes, didn't have anything in common with her but she was really hot. She was always "busy." Oh well.
