I don’t normally jump all up in gun debates but I can’t let this comment go. People act as if government massacres of unarmed civilians is some ancient history. If people were quoting a massacre in 400AD in this argument I would scoff. But WWII was recent whether you want to admit it or not. People are still alive from then. It’s one generation away. Pol Pot and other government massacres are even more recent.
And don’t give me that argument of “your rifle can’t stop the government.” Because a bunch of cave dwellers with AK-47’s have been holding off the US Military for almost 20 years now.
Do I think I will need to take up arms against a tyrannical US Government? frick no. Do I like knowing I have the means to do so if needed? frick yes. Last thing, this is the US of A and not any of those other countries, I don’t give a frick what they do but don’t say “it works there we should do it.” We are #1 for a reason and it isn’t from following others.

don't know about Canadian laws but deer hunting isn't the intent of the 2nd amendment.

Huh?
Handguns make up the majority of mass shootings

Anyone who is going to murder people isn’t going to obey this law anyway.

I’m embarrassed for you and your ignorance right now.

It never fails with these guys. I think that’s one of gun owners biggest pet peeves.... if these turds want to limit a constitutional right, at least have a clue of WTF you are trying to ban or limit.

Why would they want to ban assault weapons?

Huge number. Right up there with bathtub injuries and accidental self-asphyxiation.
99% of gun control advocates are just looking to piss off the sort of person they imagine gun owners to be (rednecks, conservatives... whatever). People seldom really analyze their own motives, though.

No you're not.
This is a political panic move.

The most opinionated soy boys regarding gun rights are usually retarded.

Is it not wrong for governments to look at ways to limit these mass murder events that have multiplied in recent years. How many people have died up in the U.s. over the last 30 years from these mass shootings? but heaven forbid they go after your 50 round clip rifle Let the downvotes begin you bunch of rednecks
Wow. You managed to check just about every typical clueless gun-grabbing idiot box with just one post.
Impressive.

I am not a red neck. I hardly view myself as a staunch republican either. I have never been hunting. I don’t like fishing.
But I am an NRA member
And I own guns because they are fun to have, fun to shoot, I live in a dangerous city and know that if the extremely rare event were to happen where I needed to defend my life or the life of anyone in my home I have the right and the ability to do so and not cower I’m hopeless fear and wait for the police to arrive. But that is just a fringe benefit. You can not have a tyrannical police state that is effective in oppressing a population if that population is armed. You can’t convince me to get on a train to some unknown location without a fight. You can’t convince me to provide quarter to potentially hostile people without a fight. You can’t take my property without a fight. You can’t take my children without a fight. You can’t take my wife without a fight. You can’t tread on me without a fight.
The second guarantees the first. There is no first without the second.
