I'd be like Ron White. "Yes sir, Rolex didn't make very many of these, because they just didn't have many buyers at $20,000 per rifle. But you said you want to buy it, so..."

They don't even need to put it to a vote, can simply add any firearm to the ban list by executive order. There are some that are saying this isn't enough and want all handguns banned as well.

You can buy semi-auto .308 rifle that looks it is for hunting and put a 20 round mag in it. Any semi auto hunting rifle can quickly be reloaded. Shotguns can have 12 round mags.... stupid

We ought to loosen our restrictions on weapons.

1. This is fricked up because they're seemingly blaming the last mass shooting on an assault rifle when they haven't even said what type of gun was used.

2. Since they require registration of these guns, they know right where to go to get them.

This is 1000% the route the left wants to take. They want your guns and will baby step their way into taking them. Trudeau has also said he's thinking of taking these same measures when it comes to handguns.

BTW, this was done by EO and not by parliament.

Every time I drove into Canada, they stopped me at the crossing and asked if I had a gun. I think the law is an American can't bring a gun (Other than hunting?) into Canada.

You can have some pistols as well but must fill out a form at the border.

This tells me they they didn’t say why type of weapon was used because it didn’t fit the narrative.

Last I heard they haven't released the type of weapon used. Not sure if they said what type it was since I last looked. But I have to agree. If this was one of those scary guns, they likely would've said by now.

Toronto police took down a knife-wielding slasher the other day.
Time for Justy to ban knifes - what a putz.

Exactly. There would be extensive reporting on the shooting and endless mentions of the “assault rife” that was used.

We see it here in America. If there is a mass shooting with (a) white male perp and (b) he used an “assault rifle” the story will dominate the new cycle for days or even weeks. If the mass shooting lacks those two factors it’s quickly pushed aside since it can’t be used to push the narrative.

You guys melt when a country bans / limits guns and bring up all these pictures of worst case scenarios from wars of past . England, japan, australia and now canada have some type of gun control. I mean they are not 3rd world countries last i checked.
I'm not for banning all guns but dang is it not proven in every mass murder events in the U.S. or any other country that some type of automatic weapon was used?
Is it not wrong for governments to look at ways to limit these mass murder events that have multiplied in recent years. How many people have died up in the U.s. over the last 30 years from these mass shootings? but heaven forbid they go after your 50 round clip rifle Let the downvotes begin you bunch of rednecks

No. Get your shite together. You are one of the same tards that knows nothing about firearms, but thinks they know what's best for the rest of us.

Not enough to give up my rights. And if government is serious about saving lives they will look at other avenues instead of guns.

I am actually for this. Canada has a lot of great resources and potentially one of the most lucrative shipping lanes through the thawing northwest passage. There may come a time when we need to go in take Canada. Most of them live near the US border and without much of a military and a reduction in weapons they would be extremely easy to pacify. Im not saying we need to invade them, but the weaker they are the better it is for us.
