I believe they switched back to 9mm not too long ago… there’s a large surplus of 40 cal. due to different agencies going back to 9mm as well.
I know my department didn’t switch due to being cheapskates and accepting as much of that 40. cal as possible

Yeah, the news site it was posted on isn't that kind of outlet. (It's owned by the LDS church and leans pretty far right). But, they could have picked it up off the AP or something and not changed the headline.

This is a poorly written article. How do you shoot someone "about" four times? If the deputy actually shot the man in the mouth and shot him four times, then presumably all four shots would have hit him in the mouth.
It seems more likely that he shot AT the man four times, hitting him once in the mouth.

Sonia Sotomayor has absolutely no problem with gun use like this if it helps her. She just wants to make sure the plebs don't get the privilege.

I realize that they said they were up the street from her house. My point was that it was just a carjacking. She was not at the car, nor did being part of her security detail have diddly to do with it. All the jacker knew was he wanted the car. He was not aware that the dumbest member in history of SCOTUS was within 100 yds.

Well, you got a little bit correct. Your Glock model info is correct. Glock 23 and 27 are also 40 cal. while Glock 26 is .9mm. Those were carried at times by some of their people.
The US Marshals never issued the 10 mm to any component.
That agency used the Glock model 22 which is .40 S&W caliber as their first generally issued semi-auto handgun with model 23 issued to supervisors, inspectors and court security personnel.
This is all published in the American Rifleman many years ago.
Their switch to .9mm is pretty recent.

It appears there have been other carjackings involving officials and such. Maybe these guys went fishin, so to speak, and caught one.
Or maybe the criminal just picked the wrong car. Maybe word will get out.

It wasn't 10mm. The Secret Service used .357 Sig. It recently changed to 9mm.
