If OP tells the husband to stop cheating, it may or may not stop. If he tells the wife, it has a greater chance of stopping. This is why the OP told.

He does not want this dude stretching his future girlfriend out. If someone else is nailing her then OP's chances to nail her goes down. He crushed the wife's heart to escalate the timeline. All he wanted was to hurry up and get with his Sweet Baboo.

Scuse?

If he told the wife about the affair and did it to hurt and take advantage of the situation then he's just as much of an a-hole as the cheater. Fact

No it's not. He's admitted that already.

Or do you know the OP?

I do not know him but I am looking at the sum total. He is friends with the girl. Let's name her Kathleen. Kathleen is cute enough for the husband to risk losing everything to date her. Kathleen puts a little lead in the OP's pencil but he is friendzoned as long as she is dating the husband.

OP realizes that telling the wife will more than likely end Kathleen's relationship, leaving her vulnerable and available. Since Kathleen is hot, OP wants to hit it. He knows her as a friend so he feels she is hot and a quality person. He wants it long term.

The longest journey begins with but a single step. Telling the wife was that step.

Hey OP, Kathleen is hot isn't she?

I would imagine Kathleen isn't very happy with OP and probably thinks he's a pussy for ratting out her sugar daddy

Probably so but.... He is claiming Kathleen did not know that the husband was married. If Kathleen knew, she is wrong too and is by default, knocked off of the pedestal OP has her on.

This leaves Kathleen unable to be openly mad at OP because if she is mad then she knew. She is kicking his arse in her mind though.

Too bad even if she gets with OP she'll be thinking about Mr. married.

And still fricking him on the side while OP pays for her shite.

You can't really stop people that want to cheat. It's too damn easy.

She'll find out.

And if the OP is trying to end up in a relationship with her, deceiving her like this isn't a good way to start. He's just as sneaky and dishonest as the 2 others involved in the cheating relationship.

The OP should have just minded his own business.

Of course it's a big fricking deal. Why does that mean it's okay for strangers to who know nothing of me, my wife, or our relationship

His only involvement was passing on the information. It's not like he's demanding to sit between you two and mediate the separation.

Do you not think he's "right" in telling the SO about the infidelity? Are you being slow on purpose?

I think he did it for his own selfish reasons. But, he did no harm and she is better for knowing.

quote:

Of course he did. I've seen relationships heal without the influence of strangers. The person came forward with his indiscretions and true remorse. That's taken away here. And it's important. Because he came forward on his own and wasn't forced, it showed it wasn't done out of guilt and the reconciliation could start right there and without (or much less) her taking his word for granted... trust can start again. That's gone in this situation.

It's only gone if the parties decide it's gone.

So I fell asleep after the first page of this.

Did any new info come out like his real motivation other than his line of bullshite of "I was being completely unselfish"?
