How are you harmed if that's the case?

I never call my insurance company if it is the other driver's fault. I just deal with their insurance company.

I'm not harmed. Just pissed that my own insurance company was ready and willing to throw in the towel without a fight. Thank God All-State had common sense. My point of this thread is that who was at fault is so obvious, the other insurance company admitted full 100% liability within 2 minutes while my company was ready to issue checks to the other guy if it came to it.

I was in a car accident a few years back that wasn't my fault at all. Minor damage, no big deal. I was pissed because, even though I had an officer statement saying it was the other guy's fault, he was hemming and hawing and his $5/month insurance company wasn't being cooperative. State Farm threatened them with some kind of legal action and they settled that shite real quick. I don't have a point here, just wanted to share.

It never ceases to amaze me when people take the cheapest option available and then act surprised when they get exactly what they paid for.

Been there done that. Somewhere in the fine print, when you hire them, you give them the right to handle any claim any way they wish.

Long story short, a guy on a bicycle ran into the side of my wife's car. She was sitting still. While giving a statement to our insurance company, she said she didn't see him. He sued. Insurance told him to go frick himself and he went away. The six year old riding in the basket sued. Insurance company said she was at fault because she said she didn't see them.

Insurance paid $1100. Our rates went up $350 every 6 months for 3 years. You do the math.

Edit: "the good hands people"

Geico may or not have been the cheapest option for people, but for years their customer service and satisfaction was always highly rated. Geico being one of these cheap crackhead insurance companies has always been a huge misconception.

BUT, it seems like they've taken a nose dive lately.

I'm looking for a new insurance company for auto. Have looked up the big ones. I was thinking about geico but was a little hesitant because their customer service reviews weren't that great. This thread was very timely.

Ps- anybody want to recommend? I'm over paying right now and want something cheaper, but not crap.

ahhhh, the ol shouldaseen em coming rule. New to the drivers manual.

In Alexandria it is about all we use when turning through a median or when we come to four way stops.

Yeah, and there's no way around it...if you get in a wreck, and it is 1 bazillion percent the other drivers fault zero questions or exceptions, it happened in front of a police station where every cop on the force was all outside testing out their new body cams and every single one of those cameras caught the accident that proved the other driver was in fact at fault without question....if you don't have insurance, his insurance doesn't pay you a dime for anything.
