This actually happened at a gas station, I've never had trouble with walmart.

Put the Zimas back. It looks like your not going to get lucky with your cousin.
In all seriousness, I was denied alcohol sakes when my younger brother was with me. We just drove to the next available liquor store & he stayed in the car. Lessons leared!

That is the law in Florida.
I went to a liquor store once with like 6 other guys, all clearly in our 30s. One guy out of 6 didn't bring his wallet. They would not sell to us.

This is why I don't get the policy. If someone ACTUALLY was dumb enough to go to the register with the underage person they were buying alcohol for and got denied, they would just learn the lesson and go somewhere else and leave the underage person either in the car or not go to the register.
So it doesn't stop the actual underage drinking and the original store loses the sale. What's the actual point?

When it happened to me it was even more absurd.
Went to Circle K on Brightside by myself to grab a case of beer. While in there I ran into a friend who was 20 and started chatting with him and we talked a bit, I told him bye and went to check out. Cashier then said he saw me talking to my friend so he would need to see his ID too or he wouldn't sell it to me.
Had to drive down to Circle K on Alvin Dark just to buy the beer. I was so pissed.

A gray haired 76 year old man in front of me was denied a purchase of smokes because he didn't have ID. Stupid bitch.

Don't bring logic into this, it's unflattering.

Should have thanked them bro, they know you woulda torn down the town and probably gotten yourself in trouble with that sixer of Woodchuck

Wal Mart tried to deny me one time. I told the cashier boy he could either sell it to me or I'd drag his 95 lb arse over the counter and stomp a mudhole in his arse.
I got my beer.
I got my beer.

That lady probably thought she was saving your "younger cousin" from getting harmed.

Had this happen to me a while back at Rite Aid on St Charles.

You can't deny a gay couple a wedding cake!
Posted on 7/19/15 at 1:32 am to Ingeniero
It's not the law but if I know I'm buying alcohol it seems like common sense to leave the underaged person in the car.
Posted on 7/19/15 at 1:52 am to Ingeniero
If they have any suspicion that you would let your cousin drink, they can tell you no.

Actually as dumb as it sounds they are correct in this case. The police will sometimes send in two people when "testing businesses" (the second being underage), if they sell to them it's the same as selling to an underage person. You can get a huge fine and lose your job just for that. Stupid rule, but that person is only protecting their job. That's the world we live in...

That's outrageous, but stores can deny you the sale of anything they want. It's their store.
Not wedding cakes!!!!

he had to see both IDs because he was with me and he looked under 21
Could be a policy for the store

Is this actual law?
Doesnt have to be. They have the right to refuse service.
