Going back for a second time in 1.5 years. We had a blast last time. I know a bunch of hardcore OT badasses think it is a waste of time and money.

But anyway...

Who here has been Memorial Day weekend/week?

I am hoping since most schools around the country are still in session, it shouldn't be too bad. I have a feeling the Sunday maybe a little busy. We get there Saturday and leave Thursday.

We decided to use only quick service meals this time. We felt the table service meals were good, but a little waste of time and many of the quick service meals we had were as good as the table service.

I guess that may help in the title?

Isn't Memorial Day a federal holiday? Usually all holidays are considered peak times for Disney where the crowds and prices will be at its highest points. We always go and book whenever Mardi Gras doesn't fall on President's Day holiday.

Whenever we go we don't get meal plans. I think they are a waste of money b/c the kids never eat their full allotment under the meal plan. I think over the age of 9 they charge each kid as an adult. So, we bring lunch and snacks in the park and whenever we want to try out something specific we'll do that.

That's the big gay honeymoon weekend, but probably fairly quiet other than that.

Is this a death wish or something?

Find a county fair and convince the kids it's Disney World.

Paaaaaaaaaacked. Memorial Day weekend is when Disney does the whole open for 24 hours thing. Wait times for popular stuff will be hours. It's the only time that rivals Disney's Christmas/New Years time.

I've never been on Memorial day but I did go over the 4th of July weekend this past summer. Supposedly one of the more crowded times of the year. It never was super crowded IMO, however everyday around 11am they stopped admitting people in due to the max occupancy. If you were staying on site they would still allow you in.

Stick to Epcot on peak days. That park handles crowds the best. Get there before it opens to do the main attractions early that you don't have fast passes for.

I think that's the big weekend for gay couples.

What if I told you Disney World would be packed? What if I didn't know why?

Might be Star Wars weekends around that time. Withe the new movie coming out it may be even more crowded.

You are right. Gay days June 1 - June 6, 2016.

Not a good time to go with small kids.

I'd go before this stuff starts.

Star Wars weekends are usually mid-May to Mid June.

Supposedly it's running for 5 consecutive weekends in May and June so pretty much guaranteed to be a Star Wars weekend on Memorial Day. That's only Hollywood Studios though which may help alleviate any crowds in MK.

Wouldn't one check and see how crowded it was before booking the trip?
