re: Just been notified remote work will extend through the rest of the year

I've been at the office 40 hours a week throughout, as has everyone else here. No masks. No social distancing. Amazingly, none of us have died. Nor have any of our families, or extended families. About 50 or so, but about 40 of them in the field mostly. They do come in and out, and again, no distancing or masks. Two have had covid at one point or another. An almost 80 yo colleague was in the hospital a couple days, but is fine and back on the job (he says he can't stand to "retire" and not work - THAT would kill him). The other may or may not have had it. He quarantined for 2 weeks after a family member tested positive, but never had symptoms. We don't have that many vendors or sales rep show up any more, but when they do, they are welcomed in and we've gone out to lunch with them a few times.

Our company own's & manages over 2.5MM sqft of office space. I'll begin 2021 budgets in 2 weeks and I've already planned for 25% reduction in revenue for the 2021 lease year just based on the lease expirations this year and in '21. Future renewals beyond 2021 are totally uncertain as the insurance and financial companies still haven't returned their employees. Hell, Boeing/Leer/Wells Fargo haven't fully returned their staff and likely won't until mid-'21.

One saving grace is that the government is a tenant (DEA/USDA/FDA) in several of our bldgs, and they are currently scooping up the vacant sqft in the buildings to consolidate their branches in to one building. Hell, Boeing and Leer haven't fully returned their staff and likely won't until Jan '21.

We own/manage office bldg's in B'ham and several banking, financial planning, and insurance tenants refuse to "put their people in danger" by bringing them back to the office setting. The one's that are making an attempt to return are requesting un-Godly disinfection and cleaning measures to be implemented at no extra charge to the Tenant.

Mrs. Voodoo was just informed that her office will be working from home for the rest of 20'. This is very surprising as I figure many businesses have realized that their employees can pretty much perform all of their duties remotely without much hassle.

I can work from home, but am more productive at work (dual screens, etc). I also can keep an eye on the crew and make sure they are staying productive.

I should probably also say that my home is only about 200 yards away so it's pretty easy for me to get back and forth.

Working remote is fine for my job but my company has not prepared well with its infrastructure for this. Lots of downtime.

Wife just told will work from home for the remainder of the year.
I haven't worked from home yet.

I don't. He's told me a few times, but I can't ever remember. I think his department in Bham only has a few people and the main division for it is in Atlanta. He is in Atlanta quite often for work.
