I don’t know if there’s a better way to kick off America’s 250th birthday weekend than a live performance from Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Billy Powell on the piano,
Started off as a roadie. He was a trained concert pianist. He didn't tell anybody because they thought that wouldn't be cool. Anyway, the rest of the band and the producer comes in one day to him playing what would go on to be the piano solo in Freebird. They immediately recorded it and within a few months he because a full fledged band member.

Nary a bra in the entire crowd. What a time to be alive.

Boomers went to this and then voted for mass immigration and making the confederate flag illegal

All natural, no tats, free spirited. Take me back to that time 49 years ago

Yes, and no butter face, no fish lips, no botox, just all natural. That will be missed for sure.

Just imagine absolutely melting everyone’s face off there with that explorer
Have to feel like a god in that moment

IMO, this was the single greatest live musical performance in the history of mankind. Keep in mind what you hear in that video comes from nothing more than musical instruments, microphones, amplifiers, and pure God-given musical talent.

Man, so many things that need to be reset in this country.

I graduated HS and Free Bird was our Senior song, which made no sense as it was not our era.
It’s definitely a legendary and great song. To spin the HS situation, I always claimed it was the Live version we chose.

Confederate flag, freedom of speech, freedom to be who you are without repercussion, no cancelling, no snowflakes and full bush.

As said by many already, this clip is peak America!
My dad saw Skynyrd many times in the 70’s and they are still his all time favorite.
Needless to say I had no choice in becoming a huge fan myself lol
