The 70s were the best of times and worst of times all in one decade.

Ran out of fuel. Talk about all time goof up.

Also Aerosmith was going to use the plane and crew but after inspection by Aerosmiths flight crew they rejected it.

IMO, this was the single greatest live musical performance in the history of mankind. Keep in mind what you hear in that video comes from nothing more than musical instruments, microphones, amplifiers, and pure God-given musical talent.

It's an absolute shame that Collins is never mentioned among the great guitarists... despite being able to see this video. I also like the fact that his guitar used in that video is one of only a handful ever made in the combination of that style and wood. That particular guitar should be worth millions today.

This was posted previously on here and someone replied with a screen shot of the crowd pointing out his dad that was in the audience.

If the entire band somehow came back magically and tried to play that same concert today in Oakland they would all be incarcerated. That’s how far we’ve fallen as a county.

No doubt. Less than 100 were ever produced. Gibson did re-issue the model years later, but I don’t think it was 100% Korina wood from the original source.

Also, none other than Eric Clapton once owned that guitar.

I was in attendance at that Day on the Green. My friends and I still talk about it and we're in our late 60's. The Outlaws and Santana played before Skynyrd. Skynyrd was so great that when the headliner, Peter Frampton took the stage, he was drowned out by chants for Skynyrd to come back on stage. The Days on the Green were incredible, but that one was the best of them all.
