how can anyone explain why Edwards did nothing?
I think it’s pretty obvious. He was up for re-election in just under four months. If the Greene murder came to light immediately, Louisiana would be in the national spotlight, and he would have no choice but to take some action that stood to alienate a significant number of the moderate/conservative crossover votes on which his first election had depended.

He made a pragmatic choice for political expediency at the expense of justice for one of our fellow Louisianans. Pure evil.

Legislature is WEAK. They grand standed all session with the colonel and underlings, but never called the governor. Biden’s US Atty won’t convene a grand jury either. Sad.

Where is their anger, and their demands for justice? Why are no marches being instigated by them?

Remember David Treen's bumper sticker of about 1980: "WHAT'S WRONG WITH AN HONEST GOVERNOR"?

With racial tensions still simmering over the killing of George Floyd

Democrats got their school shooting and their yearly possibly justified but sensationalized black-death-by-cop. We’re back in action for election season boys. White women will be on board over the school shooting, black people will vote Dem in lockstep because another black guy died in a Dem stronghold. All is right in our uneducated shithole of a country

I refuse to believe that our fearless leader, who has had the well-being of our citizens as his top priority since March 2020, would do something because of the political ramifications.

Thank you governor for keeping us safe!

But that won't matter to the black legislative caucus. You see the same lawmakers that told you black lives matter will now quietly give the Governor a free pass.

Oh, it’ll be anything but a free pass.

They’ll wring something out of him for their assent. Make book on it.

Seems to me that JBE wanted to avoid all of the attention that the Floyd incident brought so he let the car crash story live rather than have to deal with the fallout from a story about police beating and killing Greene.

I’d guess that this Greene guy was somehow a threat to the police?
