Update….& the opt out is not really an opt out!
.@MichaelEchols :if there is an outbreak can schools exclude unimmunized students from attending based on y'all's rule?
@LADeptHealth :Yes.
Echols: what's an outbreak?
LDH: 2 cases

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said Tuesday the COVID vaccine will be added to the immunization schedule for schools and colleges in the state, overriding a previous 13-2 vote against the decision.

Louisiana lawmakers voted Monday to reject Gov. John Bel Edwards' proposal to require students get vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering school, though the Democratic governor has said he intends to override legislative rejection and add the vaccine to the state immunization schedule.
Following an hours-long oversight hearing chockfull of misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine, the House Committee on Health & Welfare voted 13-2 to oppose the rule, with a string of Republican lawmakers labeling the proposal a form of government overreach that infringes on parental choice.

Let me guess...
The legislature will be spurred by public outrage to call a veto session. The press will make much hubbub about it, there will be tweets and press conferences by state legislators about doing the will of their voters and then... they'll fail to override it.
Just like last time.

Is Louisiana so arse backwards that it lets the executive override the legislature instead of the other way around?

Color me shocked. I hope all the MF who just couldn't bring themselves to vote for Rispone are regretting their decision.
ETA shite like this and the 2020 election is why I will no longer waste my time voting.

Something seems backwards to me here from a basic civics standpoint. Is it just me?

I will be very, very upset if he pulls this shite. I will be leading my friends on calling our representatives on removing him from office if he intends to go through with this.
You don't get to override legislature on putting an experimental vaccine with 0 information on long term effects into the arms of children who have a 0% risk to the virus itself.

Blood will be on his hands, anything that happens to a child caused by this vaccine should be dropped at his feet. Same goes for any and all other politicians doing this.

I don't know, but the hearing today was eye opening on how disingenuous Dr Kantor and LDH are.
Pretty sure he perjured himself.

Republicans for Edwards' kids should be the first guinea pigs in line. Let them own their vote.
