The no-tipping movement is picking up steam. Joe's Crab Shack is testing a no-tip model in several of its restaurants.
The casual seafood chain has eliminated gratuity in 18 establishments since August and could eventually expand the policy nationwide.
Front-house workers at the selected restaurants will now earn hourly wages of around $12-$14 an hour, but some can earn more.
With more than 130 locations nationwide, this is the first major restaurant chain to put a no-tipping system to the test.

Man... Too bad their food sucks. Hope the smaller mom and pop places start doing this.

Good luck getting good servers that want to earn $40 for a four hour shift.

It's Joes and all but still.

McAlister's Deli has been like this for as long as I can remember, and they make great sandwiches.

What's wrong with 0.02% on 8 fried seafood platters?

They're just going to raise the prices.

I'm not against it, but what has been accomplished?

Shame? You should feel shame for not comprehending that good tippers come out ahead on this and bad tippers come out behind because they'll be forced to pay when it's baked into the cost of the food.

I'm not saying you specifically just in general.

It accomplishes nothing other than the food is more expensive and the servers who do take care of you, are now less likely to do so, and the people
Who don't like to tip don't have to feel bad about it.

WIll they also drop that commercial with the live shrimp in an aquarium? It looks like some cheap local restaurant commercial.
