This is a couple of years old now, but it's still entertaining & worth a re-visit:

Woke up to use the bathroom and foolishly looked at my phone. Listened to the whole interview. Gonna be tired tomorrow.

I assume there is a movie in the works. Good luck! We will all be rooting for it.

I remember watching this shooting live. Nothing I can say that has not already been said about Mr. Plauche and what he did.

That being said, I could not make it through this interview. Everyone deals with things differently. This has been 42 years ago and no doubt Jody (I know you are here - please forgive me for not addressing you directly) has undergone much healing. However, many of the jokes are too dark for me and it rips my guts out because the crux of these adult jokes are unspeakable evils committed against a small child. This may be how Jody deals with the horrors committed against him and thats okay. I am certainly in no position to determine a right or wrong way to deal with these horrific acts. No judgement here.

Jody, you sound as if you have found peace, purpose, and happiness in your life. I am so glad for you. I am especially grateful you channeled your personal story into helping those who have been subjected to the same horrors as you. Thank you and God bless you.

Most people think that it was live when shown but it wasn’t. It was recorded and shown some time later.

I did not know that. I always thought it was broadcast live as it happened.

nyone else would have been locked in. Gary was talking to his buddy from the payphone, “I’m about to shoot, you’ll hear it”. Absolute legend.

and then he hung up the phone. Gary finished the job to the end!

Actually the impressive thing is the cycle of this stopped with him.

Far too many of the abused go on to rinse and repeat the cycle.

The fella that abused a childhood friend of mine was abused by two different men growing up. Ended up doing 25 at Angola and restarted as soon as he got out.

When will Jeff Landry give Gary a posthumous pardon?

I thought he wasn't charged with anything?

Ha I bought your book a few years ago after realizing you were on TD. Good to put a face with the person. I hope to have a beer with you one day. Enjoyed that interview.

According to Wikipedia
quote:

Plauché was initially charged with second-degree murder, but agreed to a plea bargain in which he pleaded no contest to manslaughter. He was sentenced to a seven-year suspended sentence, with five years' probation and 300 more hours of community service, which he completed in 1989.

No prison time though

This is great to see. I eat at your restaurant at least once a week and always think about this when I'm there. It's very commendable how you have overcome all of this and can talk about it with wisdom and maturity.
I wish nothing but the best for you, bro.

But it aired live on the 10 o'clock News so I give people the benefit of the doubt.

The shooting took place around 9:30PM.
